They have announced that there is no grace period since there has been plenty of time for the drivers to adapt.

I wonder if anyone else has noticed the effective date 7 /1/13.

Most states run their fiscal year through 6/30.

Of course it is for safety.

I like what you're saying, Trees. And there's a precedent. Canada DOT runs a 16hr work clock, and a 14hr drive clock. (13hr, I forget?) If it's working for them why not us? Besides that, we only have to be on sleeper for 8hr, which we could easily get in a 9hr window. I don't sleep long hours either, and have to find a way to fill in that waiting for the clock. I like watching the little bars racing across the screen....

I have been running EOBR logs since Feb, don't care to ever go back to paper logs again. No problems here.

I just had to chuckle over that one. Some folks are so frightened of the EOBR thing, they have no ability to refrain from attacking other who might actually like using them. Though it might be the case somewhere, I have never seen anyone who liked them actually wanting it to be forced on those using paper. All I have ever seen is that many who are using EOBR, do not have any problems using them. But man, the lashing out that goes on by those that don't use them. With mindsets like this, psychology/sociology will probably always be secure professions to work in. Irrational fear can sure cause folks to react in strange ways.
