OK so I am on my second load of my first trip out and it has been anything but smooth. My first load had 3 pick ups in CA spread all over ( Tracy, Sacramento then Union City). Got the pickups done no problem but thought it was a bit funny that i only had about 12k pounds on the truck??? well halfway to my 99 i get a message on the quallcomm that the first pickup did not load me with a PO i was supposed to pick up (note when i got there they said they had not even started to pull the order yet). Oh I forgot the night before that i had to shutdown early because a warning light came on on the truck after an hour back and forth with OTRM it went out on its own and they said not to worry about just a glitch in the system. so next day I start up and run about an hour and the light comes back one again, another hour back and forth with OTRM and they say if I am not loosing power keep going until i get to a terminal where they can look at it. OK no problem but now I am hours behind where I had planned to be on this trip so I start running hard to make up some time. Then I hit Portland right at 5:00! now I after an hour in traffic and with my 10 I am going to be 2 hours late to my 99. next morning I get up and start running hard to get there and wouldn't you know it I get lost, Now I am 3 hours late. OK no biggie they are not busy and are able to get me right in, as I am waiting I get my next load for the weekend almost 1900 mile plus a 200 mile DH to get there. one Problem its 10:00 and I have not been released from my 99 yet. Finally get going at 10:30 OK DM has talked to Customer support to let them know what is going on and that I will be a little late. I run hard again to make my 01 and get there a half hour late. Good get loaded and get going right? Wrong 1st question from the shipper, do you have palettes? NO! ( this was my second lesson learned if you are not sure if you need palettes call the shipper before its to late) Finally 2 hours later I get palettes now I am loaded one problem I am at the dock and my 14hr clock has expired shipper does not want me sleeping at their Dock so I Slowly roll a mile down the road to a truck stop for the night. On the way in I pass the scale so I decide lets scale the load tonight before bed. 1400 over on my tandems well not time to left to fix it tonight slide the tandems back in the morning re-weigh and hi the road. so first two loads and I have learned two lessons the hard way. well if this is how it starts it can only get better from here right????:biggrin_25523:

The good news is my DM said as soon as I get to CRSWVC he wants to turn my truck in and get me a me new one. I hope he means a new Cascadia.

Well my 700 mile load delivering Sunday got replaced with 200 and 300 mile loads, the last of which has 28 hours on it (that's the 200 mile, of course). It's Walmart, so there's no moving the appt, and that stretches less miles out to Monday night. I'm really starting to consider dropping Kraft. I used to love this fleet. Lots of drop and hook, 6-900 mile loads, 3000+ mile weeks, and no random problems. Now I'm running more shorties, live unload, weight problems, HOS violations due to bad planning (seriously, I'd have to decline a lot of loads to not have any violation risks), and overall more problems than I had on otr. I got on this fleet so I wouldn't have these problems and it worked real well for about 6 months, not so much anymore.

Anyone know of a better low stress fleet with miles? I don't feel like going back to the general fleet, but I'm really starting to tire of more problems and less miles.

We started out OTR, then went Cafe' Valley... Now UNFI... Different DM's for all of them. Didn't want to leave our first one, but the miles weren't there. The second one ... mmmm enough said there; and really like the one we have now.

Over the QC notify your DM that you have noticed the drop in miles, and express your dissatisfaction NICELY... That way there is documentation... If you are lease, contact O/O, let them know what's going on, and question the procedure of 'how to turn in the truck' - again NICELY... I haven't dealt with 'driver services' since they started that position, but before it was a position I have talked to Carl... So that's an option too... Just thoughts...

I think I'm gonna call Kevin (he is the big boss for Kraft) and have a chat. Something's got to change.
