You can often attend a "Classroom Only" class for permit study at a CDL school. Some people have a much harder time getting their permit than others and really need the classroom environment where they can ask questions and get answers. Call some of your local CDL schools and see if they offer a permit study course. If you fail any of the permit tests more than three times the state will put you on hold, 30 days.

i would go to Spirit CDL, after you get done there, you will pass it on your first time
SpiritCDL Thanks this. -
I failed my permit 1st time then passed it my second time. Don't bother reading the states manual cause on the test they might ask you things you never seen before. cristcdl is a good place to study and most questions are on the permit test, just be carful cause at the DMV they word it differently.

I passed general knowledge, air brakes, and comb vehicles on the first try in Wisconsin by reading the material in the dot manual, but at the same time placing myself in a truck in the situations that are given in the book. If you can place yourself in the situations listed in the book as you read them, they become second nature answers. I have a road test July 8th, and I'm still re-reading the CDL manual cover to cover using the same study habits. I was also told by the third party tester himself that i should refer to youtube videos to study for the pre-trip, TAB test, and road test. I've cross referenced over 40 videos to come up with a system for checking over a combination vehicle for pre trip. I've also approached local non-chain trucking companies about their pre-trip practices, and over all operations in preparation for the fun part, which is after i get the CDL. The license doesn't make a good safe truck driver, its the process afterwards. That is the reward. Safe trucking redheat!

I actually took some air brake, comb, and general knowledge sample tests on the ooida.com website. I still read my WI dot manual every day in preparation for my road test this coming Monday. I would also go to the ooida Web site and have someone else ask you the questions. Have friends question you in the car, and the best advice I can give you is what really made the information stick, was explaining to my son situational awareness in the car everywhere we went. He'll be driving next year, so I put everything in the context of specific driving situations with him in a car, and myself in a tractor trailer. He's pretty fascinated with it actually, especially allotted braking distances. We were even counting"one thousand one"and so on...Lol He couldn't believe the"space"required to operate a semi safely
I'm sure you will do fine. When you cover the material enough, the answers will flow come test time
