I worked for USX for 4 months and quit. USX does not appear on my DAC as employment history. I received a notice after I quit that I had been terminated for accidents. I did hit a parked car next to a dock. Also hit a low bridge in Chicago. No tickets no police at either incident. My driving record is still clean. No criminal record. What should I do when applying at other companies? When they pull my DAC USX will not appear. I have been putting them down as my driving experience but companies are not calling me back. Are they pulling my DAC and not finding my driving experience? Are they calling USX? and what is USX saying to them. I guess I need to have USX put on my DAC. What would you do? Who do I contact about fixing DAC reports. Who is a good contact? I don't want to pay for someone not qualified to deal with DAC.

First of all, IF the information shows up on your DAC (you say it doesn't) and the information is CORRECT, there is no way you can "correct" it.
You also don't say how long you have been driving for, but I will just about guarantee that the companies you apply for, are calling your previous employer.
All it takes is the negative answer to just ONE question to determine if you will get the job or not: "Would you consider this employee for re-hire". If USX is answering NO, that would be the reason you aren't getting hired.
It also doesn't help that you had two "accidents" in 4 months. Hitting a car is one thing, but hitting a low bridge is fairly serious. -
There is no good excuse for hitting a low bridge !

Source: Speeding Ticket Central - Do a Google Search for their DAC page
Your report consists of two parts. The first is your MVR (motor vehicle report) which is your CDL driving record obtained from your home state.
Once a speeding ticket violation goes on your MVR there is nothing that can normally be done and certainly not without an attorney. Reopening a case is very difficult and costly. It pays to contest every moving violation citation because they stay on your record for three years and most companies require that you have no more than two non-serious traffic violations on your driving record.
Of course two serious moving violations in three years means that your license will be suspended and goodbye truck driving job. In addition CDL drivers can no longer take advantage of driving school or deferment programs like the 4wheelers. This means that it is getting very difficult to keep a clean driving record if you are a CDL driver.
The other part of the report is your work record. This is simply what your former employers have reported. The trucking companies are paid a small fee for your record. This will include notations about any accidents, noted as preventable or nonpreventable, or other problems.
If possible, always try to leave on good terms because what your former employers say about you carries a great deal of weight in the trucking industry. If you have a recent preventable accident or a bad report from a former employer then you will have a serious problem getting any major company to hire you. This is why it is so important to regularly monitor your DAC report. You have the right to obtain a copy of your report and also to dispute any incorrect information. This means they must verify any item that you dispute.
However, if the company confirms then it stays on your report. You will then have to contact the company directly and try to get them to correct the report. Again you may need an attorney since the company has no incentive to change the report. In my experience most companies will simply ignore your request since it costs them to investigate.
USIS Commercial Services is subject to the FACT Act file disclosure requirements. Upon request to USIS, a consumer is entitled to receive a free copy of his or her DAC report once every twelve months. Additional copies may be provided within the subsequent twelve month period, subject to a $9.50 charge. There are other circumstances under which a consumer may be entitled to free copies of their file.
USIS only maintains consumer files for individuals who have applied for employment with their customers. As a result, your particular file may not be available through USIS if you have not applied for employment with one of their customers. To request a copy of your DAC report you must send them a written request including a copy of your Social Security card and Drivers License. To my knowledge this is the only way to receive your report unless you can persuade someone at a trucking company to obtain it for you.

It takes ten days to two weeks to receive your DAC report.
If you have fraudlent infromation on your DAC report you need to first follow the dispute resolution procedures. Be careful that just because something has been removed from your DAC does not mean that you do not need to put it on your application.
If your new employer finds out by other means you may be fired for filling out a false application.

I cant give you much advice here Groupa but one thing I will say is dont contact DAC to have them put negative information on your record. You say that info is not on your DAC report, have you requested a copy from USIS? I am assuming so. Prospective employers can verify that you worked for USX with just a phone call or even pay stubs You say you quit but they sent you a notice that you were fired so thats probably what USX will tell anybody that calls also, that they had to let you go. Just keep plugging away. Just because a company does not call you back does not mean they know or researched anything about you, it could mean they are just not interested
p.s. I just read your other post where you say that you were let go for having too many preventables and they are also on your DAC report. What confuses me is how could the accidents be listed on there and not an employer......maybe a shot of schnapps will help me out -
The accidents are not on dac either. No police reports either time. USX only appears on as inquiries. It is like USX never hired me but I worked for them 4 months. I do have a copy of my DAC.
-
Ok Im gonna go get a little bit more schnapps. I read a post eariler that says those two are on your DAC but now you are saying they are not. Either way you will just have to keep looking. You can verify your employment yourself but what might be hard to get around is the fact that you had two accidents, if they are on your DAC you might be screwed and if you are honest on an application you might also be screwed, but if somehow you got USX to put your info into the system (which I doubt you could) just so you can show that you was employed there, then those two boo boo's would most likely show up also and I dont think you want that following you around with a paper trail if you could avoid it. You might have to search a little harder than others and you might not get that perfect job, but there is probably a job somewhere out there for you. Good luck.

what about bridges marked 14' 3" - BUT then they paved the road several times and built the surface height up to the point that trucks throw sparks everytime they go under it?
crap like this is happening more and more... height changes - old signs.
-
Also keep in mind that not every company utilizes the DAC service - nor does every company look at it.
it is not federally required to report or be reported on by DAC - -
If I read this thread correctly. I would get a copy of my DAC and see what is on it. If they are not reporting the accidents and your employment history. I think they are doing you a favor by not reporting them. I would just claim the time as being unemployed in your job search. My question I have is, Did this go on your state driving record?
