I would be happy with all of the above. lolHometimeQueen Thanks this.

Can't comment on all the wishes yet, but 1. would be nice! 2. is an excellent suggestion, cost effective for Transam as well as easier for the drivers. 3. What can I say, Hometime, you're a genius.
4. Our trainer this week told us that response time is better by message than phone. With upwards of 45 drivers assigned per manager, no wonder they can't answer every phone call immediately. Maybe the answer is fewer drivers per DM. 5. Wouldn't it?!
The rest sound good, too, just no experience yet, so no comments.HometimeQueen Thanks this. -
Your trainer was correct. You will get a lot quicker response if you message rather than call. Also a message is proof of what is happening at that time with that conversation. I don't think calls are monitored. So if you are messaging about being late because of weather, or traffic that is a record of what you are doing. No he said she said bs cause the conversation is all right there in black and white.bwaync, urnotgonzo and HometimeQueen Thank this.

it is just a little bridge as you go thru downtown
past the mill on the right
just before you start up the hill -
Yes, you do get a better response if you send a message rather than call ....most of the time ....unless it is at the shift change. I keep reminding husband of that
....he is old school and wants to hear a voice sometimes. Be very direct in your messages ....tell them exactly what the problem is. I have always heard that the calls are recorded also ....but there would be no long term record of them.
I would also like to add another item or two to the wish list.
8. Panic button in the truck. They used to have them several years back, I always thought that was a good thing.
9. Some of the quarterly safety classes should be on driver safety, not just on truck safety. A few years ago husband was doing a pick up in the backwoods, while he was doing a pre-trip on trailer, he came around from the back of the trailer and caught someone climbing into the cab of the truck. Could have been a really bad situation if he hadn't seen them....thankfully no one was hurt, lesson learned. -
We are at the Best Western in Rockwall, nice place and breakfast is hot and good.

Remember that your dispatcher is dealing with 50 or more drivers, imagine if they all tried to call at the same time!

I just loaded an app for Transflo on my I-Phone. Did a test scan, seems to work pretty well, but will post when I use it for real!

Every trailer I have picked up I have either had a flat with, had bad tires to replace, had reefer issues and/or had other broken parts to replace. Or any combination of the abovr. I havr lost so many miles and so much time because of bad trailers this month. My phone died two weeks ago which made life a little harder and I spent almost two weeks trying to get home t pick up my replacement. Finally I had enough of failed attempts and I deadheaded myself from Olathe to thwe FL panhandle. Got home in the wee hours of Friday motning and pick my next load up Monday afternoon in Forsyth, GA. It has been a total nightmare.
