Having lost all these things frees a trucker to persure his main love, driving the truck. This way he don't have to have home time, no home to go to, he doesn't have to try to see his wife every couple of months, no wife to go to, and who needs a car when he has that fine shiny truck to live in? He can even tell the company to cut his pay, all he really needs is a meal every day or so, and some water to drink while driving down the hi-way.

Even for new drivers seems like common sense to me, lowly paid starter companies do not value experience, and your wages will be low regardless. Low paid workers bring down the pay and benefits for everyone at that company.
On time and safe don't matter - you make the same - as the guy who sleeps in, misses appointments, and takes out street signs weekly
If a company has to endlessly "recruit" and advertise, that should tell you something - the best companies need to be "found" - they don't need to bother you with unsolicited calls and emails. -
Some of these bigger companies are the scum of the earth. They have no family values, integrity or respect for the driver. I see these people in here stating that it's the drivers fault and I'm telling you that over 80% of the time it isn't. I personally know of 6 drivers that were family or close friends that have been screwed over at least once in the past 20 years.Lone Ranger 13 Thanks this. -

^^^^^^^^ one drivers compalaint or bad opinion is not and should not be the deciding factor in someone working for a company. I have seen about 5 or so people ##### about my company and to me , I see 5 people vs 10 tpo 20 positives on this site. that's 2 to 1 up to 4 to 1. really if a person is interested in working for a company they need to listen to actual drivers, not 8 week wariors cause their dispatcher wouldn't give them miles, cause they would rather sleep and sit at truckstops....
