Your interpretation of rude is funny to me. All I see is correction of your incorrect statement of logging a break on duty.

Again, my mistake. It's been a long week and I've had to deal with unfriendly recievers all week.

It's not so much that I'm trying to be rude. It's that I'm shocked there continues to be such ignorance on the subject. It's been discussed here ad naseum and every thread so far has followed the same path; incorrect statements, interpretations and advice about what the rule states then eventually some finally get their "AH HA" moment and figure it out. Why, when the rule is so simple? I can't believe people who will have a financial liability facing them for getting the rules wrong can be so ill-informed. It's a failing of safety depts as well as the drivers themselves. This rule hasn't been kept a secret, if you participate here it isn't a secret either. It's looking like the 30-minute break is going to be like shooting fish in the barrel for the DOT man. Your ignorance will cost you money. As Jesse James says, 'Pay up sucker!'

Im just glad I know now to take the break off duty. The other change was really no issue , seeing how I normally go 2wks between resets if not longer.

not trying to sound dumb can anyone simplfy the new rules to me plz???
thank you -
Look at previous posts, or better yet, look at the Regs yourself & figure it out. Everyone is trying to make this more confusing than it needs to be. Its very easy. Its in black & white. A 34 hr restart must include 2 consecutive periods between 1 & 5 a.m. & you have to take a half hr break within the 1st 8 hours on duty, whether thats fueling, rockin a duece at the rest area, sitting at a shipper, whatever. You just go up to Line 1 for a half hr & then drop down to line 3 or 4 depending on what you're doing.Grumppy and newbietrucker007 Thank this.

It is almost as though the new HOS regulations were designed and will continually be designed to get SOLO over the road, (OTR), truck drivers off of the road and eventually have only TEAM drivers on the road driving.

#### the DOT and FMCSA....
All HOS RULES suck and keep hard working men and woman DOWN and BROKE.. -
I saw on a different forum that any drivers under the NMFA can not use the reset.
Since I posted this in the YRC forum I thought I should mention that. -
That's a union rule . It has nothing to do with FMCSR
