I always wore running shoes while I drove. But I carried steel-toes, hard hat and my vest under my bunk for the places that it was mandatory to wear on site.

I'm not really sure. I went through orientation in Fontana, CA. They might have different brands at the other training facilities.

    On the truck I have:

    I pair Steel Toe Boots
    1 pair Kevlar Toe Converse
    1 pair sneakers
    1 pair Cowboy Boots
    1 pair Flip Flops (Shower)
    2 pair Sandals
    1 pair Insulated Duck Boots

Pretty much covers me for any occasion. In then summer it is usually sandals between shipper and received and Converse on the dock... Winter is sneakers bewtween with Steel Toe Boots on the dock.

Keen is a great brand. The last they use for building their shoes is unique and allows room for those of us that have problems with pain in the big toe in "normal" brands. Anyone with foot problems should find a store that sells Keen and try on a pair.

    MJ1657 and 48Packard Thank this.

'Preciate that....I'm due a new pair, and would really like to buy a GOOD pair of quality boots. I must admit that I've never heard of Keen before....I'll check 'em out. I've bought the cheap boots before, and boots are something that you truly "get what you pay for".

Edit: Just looked at their website....there are several dealers within 5 miles of my house. Looks like after my next doctor appt, I'll be boot-shopping.

I used to work with factories supplying the footwear industry. The concept behind the "last" that Keen uses is meant to allow the big toe to have plenty of room, more like a "natural" bare foot splaying pattern. Lots of wiggle room for toes. I've had a few Keen shoes along the way, and now that they have steel toed boots.... well. 'nuff said...

    48Packard Thanks this.
