lol I had to watch it, I used to love those movies.
Drove through a roundabout today in Tracy, CA
I was bobtailed though

When that movie was made most off Europa had not discovered rounabouts in a big way.(except for the UK where that scene was filmed)
You can thank the English for exporting that idea worldwide.
btw on a real busy road,a rounabout is slower to clear traffic then a set off lights.
ps if you love roundabouts,make a trip thru Europe without using the interstates. -

Not quite right.
Roundabouts, in their modern form, were standardised in the U.K., improving on the experience of traffic circles built in the U.S. following WWII. (from Wikipedia)
