Recently I was in California and an officer wrote me two tickets. She asked me to sign them and when I said that I had to go to the truck to get my glasses, she said I was only signing for receipt and that I would have lots of time to read them later. So, I signed the tickets, but she took them back immediately saying she would hang on to them for now, along with my drivers license. The following day she returned my drivers license, but refused to give me the tickets.I then left the state.
Bottom line is I signed for the tickets but never were served with them. What is my next step I should take to make sure these tickets have been voided?
(I realize this is an abbreviated version of events, long version is in 'Bad Trucking Companies section).
Thanks
California - tickets

Start by telling the truth. This little story is full of holes. Its either a complete lie or fabrication or your leave a lot out.
double yellow Thanks this. -
Keep an eye on the mail for a court summons or fine is all I can really think of. Might be kind of hard to prove in court that you did not get a copy roadside since your signature is already on it. If that happened to me I wouldn't have left before filing a complaint with the field supervisor. Did you get a name and badge number of the officer issuing the citation?

No lies and like I stated above, long version is in 'bad trucking companies section' - see cmx, but you had better grab a bag of popcorn and a cold one first.

Yes, I have her name. Thought maybe I should contact local legal service that specializes in dealing with truckers.

If you can afford it go for it. Unless there are other similar complaints against her, you are probably pissing in the wind.

Banning? NEVER EVER EVER sign anything ESPECIALLY from a cop, without reading it first. California Highway Patrol is famous for lying, cheating, and misleading people. Unfortunately most people from other states assume that cops have morals and rules keeping them from doing these sort of things. CHP are criminal thugs who couldnt care less about public safety or your driving career. Treat them the way they treat you, like a worthless idiot.

I guess my point here is that I was not served. Unless, she is going to lie and say I was. I am thinking the first step might be to contact the courts (not sure who or where) to see if anything has been filed.

BINGO!
You have been served. You signed a citation, im not sure what kind of "receipt" you thought you were signing. You signed it, that means you read it and have a copy of it. When you get to court, tell the judge she said it was just a receipt... Im sure he'll just throw the whole thing out. **sarcasm**.
You got shafted by the Criminal Highway Patrol. Welcome to Kalifornia. -
You sure seem to have that right. I have never been treated as badly by anyone as I was by this cop.
But maybe she felt bad for her behavior, and had second thoughts about giving me tickets. Think that is why she wanted to hold onto them?
