So why did you get you cdl now? What will probably happen is you'll have to take a refreshers course because of not utilizing your CDL for so long. Why don't you start putting in apps elsewhere at least maybe you get some exp in till october then try Mavericks if that's the company your heart is set on.You need to do something about your cdl rather then just wait till October. You spent time an money getting your cdl why not try real hard finding work and putting your cdl to use.

For Maverick, it doesn't matter if he doesn't use his CDL, he's coming in as a student either way and Maverick does not have any requirements for attending a school. You only have to have a valid CDL and it doesn't matter how long ago you got it.

In all likelihood you'll do fine. There is a short road test where they take you down a back road, then onto the highway, then exit and go into a truck stop and pull into the fuel pumps. Then you switch out with another student who is riding with you, and he or she drives back. That part is mainly just to make sure you can handle the truck and don't panic out on the road.

There's no backing test in the actual truck. You'll go with a trainer for 4 weeks who will stop regularly and teach you how to back.

The rest of the test is done in the simulator, which they'll let you practice with before you actually test on it. And you don't do it until after your 4 weeks with a trainer.

Only the experienced guys do an actual road test now. The only time we touched a truck before we got with our trainer was during the physical. That was only to make sure we used 3 points of contact getting in and out of the cab.

For students there is no road test just test out on the simulator when you are done with trainer. However, there is no way you are getting past that trainer truck if you can't drive so don't worry you'll definitely be ready if you have been released to test out.

I tried a few different training programs at companies that take students and Maverick was head and shoulders above the rest. They are demanding and they don't hand you anything but they do provide you with the tools and opportunities to get what you want you just have to bring the work ethic and desire.
