Electronic logs, no matter which system you use, are far superior to paperlogs.

careful how u word that driver u might start a war with that comment just to be clear and avoid bloodshed were talking about electronic logs that do NOT track the truck in ANY way other then where the driver inputs where he is

this is by no means an EOBR even though DOT sometimes thinks it is just because it is on a computer without looking further in to it and i wont tell him/her any different haha

wheww i saw u guys picking up the rocks and taking aim

I don't think I would use the electronic system on a daily basis but it would be a nice reference.

Days when I haul grain it would be a pain logging into my computer 10 to 20 times a day I would think.

LOL! Yeah, I know what you mean. You notice I said Electronic logs, not EOBR's ;-)

As to the tracking issue and opposition by many truckers against EOBR's because of them, I heard the top litigating truck accident attorney in the country last week say on national radio that if you think clean paperlogs keep a driver/company free from being tracked, you have another thing coming.

In fact, he said that paperlogging is only one small portion of the various means they have now in determining exactly what a driver has been doing and where he's been. He then went on to elaborate on what those means are. However, I don't want to bore anyone with the stark facts and reality that IF you are involved in an accident and have lied about where you have been and what you were doing on a paperlog, you're essentially a cooked goose.
