    ok the thing is i need a 18 in my tr4uck but the cost is high so am thinking of maybe getting a rtlo18913b and getting it converted if it would be cheaper to do , the cost of a rtlo20918b is $500,000 out here or $5,500 in usdlr

    it looks to me all the internals are the same, the road ranger valve "shift knob" and slave valve are different, u only have one air line for high low range on the 18,, 13 has 2 air lines for range

    All I know is what the guy who has been building them for 20+ years told me. It would cost more to convert a 13 to an 18 the right way than it would cost to buy a real 18 speed

    you dont have to convert it or anything all i do is when in low and wanna switch to low high i just flip the range to high then slide the splitter forward and let off the gas and it works

    These idiots talking about a 13 going kaboom when you split the low side are way too funny. If you have not rebuilt these trans, dont talk about what you do not know! The only difference is the ratio.
