Actually, this year has been a difficult year in the NW. That's my opinion only.
I spent the past 3 winters running in and out of the NW. Thankfully, I have not had to do it this year.
But just from what I've seen on TV, these guys have really been taking a beating this year. Far worse than the past 3 years combined it appears to me.

Ya I think the west has gotten pounded this year! It dont seem like it is normally that bad out west.
-
sounds like watkins is the darlin of the month. WHo was it last?? oh that's right, roehl. I wonder how long this one will last they sure seem to be slamming roehl these days.

I am at the end of a 17 day run and I have dealt with snow almost everyday...though I'm in Los Angeles right now and was running around in a T-shirt...Starting to get more used to dealing with the snow. Have not had to chain up yet but probably could have a couple times, my timing seems to have been good so far though. It's definately stressful to drive in bad weather, I just slow way down and take 'er slow and steady.
I'm ready for Spring to arrive!! -
Well deserved for W/S to be darlin' of the month. I really like being treated like I'm a person, not a number. It's nice to hear "great job", "anything we can do to help you?"...."any questions about anything?"....
I'm getting my hometime starting tomorrow, just like I requested it....
Not one thing is any different than what they told me when I got hired and I'm getting a ton of miles in a generally slow time for freight...
When I voice a concern that I may not make my delivery time due to the roads being bad...I'm told "Do the best you can and just keep us updated on your status"....I love this place! -
Awesome job there truckin! So good to see someone happy with their current company for a change!

I would like to hear more about the everyday road life. I know from what I hear on other forums they say that if the drivers are not out having a good time they are not going to let everybody know. But trucking is not for everybody and if I would of made the school I have no idea if it was for me as I even miss home time on a 3 day fishing trip and I am getting ready for more of them being simi retired and starting Kayak Fishing.
You schoolies have done a great job in letting us know how things are going
Thank You
Now lets hear from the Real OTR Drivers and the Drivers doing the Furniture runs for W/S.

From what I am seeing on the Load Boards there is more freight to be moved than we have trucks and drivers to move it. Just may mean your company is not getting it's share. Schneider and some other big companys are farming out thouseands of loads to the load boards.
-
From what i see/read--W/s normally has multiple stop loads which is ok if you like that kind of stuff. They tend to have to physically move the furniture around--which is ok too if you can do it. I am just not sure what they are willing to pay is worth it. To me--20 stops per load spells headache for me.
