Everyone wants to be home every weekend which is understandable but you can never guarantee that or they only wanna work Monday-Thursday

on the other hand, I had absolutely no plans of expanding. The ONLY reason I did so was because windsmith became available and I know what he is capable of as far as working load boards, staying out, etc... Pleasantly surprised he is also an excellent tech, he pretty much worked circles around me for three days here installing roofmount AC on truck, dump valve on trailer, fuel tank on pickup, and various minor repairs, cleanup, and maint. on truck and trailer.

I think that's the best way to do it though, expand when you have the PEOPLE, not when you have the work. Most companies do it backwards, they go for the work and when they get it they go on a hiring blitz. Then they set up multi-tiered management and a bunch of rules and policies to try to idiot proof the job, since they hired a bunch of idiots to do them.

I didn't read all the posts but back in 2006 - 2007 I looked and looked and looked at alot of 53 steps for $30K and up and wound up buying a new 2008 53 Wilson combo step for $43,000. Then I looked and looked and looked from 2010 - 2011 and wound up buying a 2012 53 Wilson combo step for $43,000. I say buy used trucks and new trailers.

New trailers are the only way to go. Especially if you are going to pull it yourself. BTW, I cant seem to keep tires on my step, they wear funny and so fast. Trailer is aligned, is that just the nature of the beast?

    SHC Thanks this.
