Am at the TA truck stop in Gallup, NM. I had a $800 com check and had $600 on fuel. While fueling I noticed I was leaking coolant so I went into the shop and forgot for two hours about my $200 change. By the time I went to the fuel desk they told me that I had already collected my change and signed the receipt. I told them to check their camera and they found out that one of the cashier had given my change to another driver. Now they are telling me that they can't give me back my money until they recover it from the other driver. What does the other driver have to do with me, I didn't give him the change, TA did....... Thinking about calling a cop to get a police report before I leave TA. What do you guys think I should do?
TA refusing to give me back $200 change.

Report it to the police & your company.
There are drivers that hang around the fuel desk just waiting for an opportunity like that. Some driver waiting for a cash advance, etc., then tells the cashier he'll be right back, has to go to the rest room or he wanders away and doesn't hear his name called. When she calls his name, if he doesn't answer up the crooked driver steps up, signs for the cash and quickly leaves.
You're not the first person this has happened to.Last edited: Jul 2, 2013

On another note let this be a very important lesson to you.. and to everyone reading this... when your money is involved don't multi-task... get fuel get reciept/cash then deal with other things.. I know it shouldn't matter but it does... Way to many dishonest people in this world.airforcetoo, Giggles the Original, skibum_63 and 6 others Thank this. -
So instead of calling the police, you get on the computer, and post on a website?
First minute you knew they were playing this game with you, you should have called your boss right away. After you told him the scoop, your next call should have been the police, not jumping onto The Trucker's Report.
Just for future reference....You might want to write this down....If you are involved in a wreck with injuries, use your phone to dial 9-1-1, and get help there, not here. Just saying.....truckon, rocknroll81, LGarrison and 4 others Thank this. -

They already admitted guilt. It is their responsibility to give you and only you the change. I would definitely call the police and get a report filed just in case you have to file suit against them.
But you need a fuel receipt. You need your change. Keep better track of your financial transactions or I might want to borrow money from you!
Get you a fuel card and get on a fuel program and get away from Comchecks. -
