Morning guys, thanks for all the input.

SHC, I must be able to go to CA, so gliders don't work for me. BC Canada is a place I would like to continue going but I may have to trade that off, too bad but not the end of the world. After doing some research last night, it looks like I can run permit loads only to BC as long as my overall length is less than 105'.

Fisher, to be honest I did work on a spec for a HH T800 as I have had KWs in the past and currently. The truck came in at $191k and almost 25k dry weight with a small sleeper. The Detroit DD16 wa not an option, so it could only be spec'd with an ISX. Price was way out of my budget.

I really want the lightest, shortest WB truck with the best visibility from the drivers seat, so any of the long nose Pete's or W900s were not a good fit for me. Given that I am not cool, but I am old and cranky and carry a ton of stuff the large sleeper was a nice bonus, leavebthe flat tops to the young guys.I even spec'd a Coronado SD but the price was virtually identical to the WS. My perception of quality in the Western Star moved away from the Coronado.

I really do appreciate all the feedback as I go through this as everybody brings valuable experiences with them. Now if anybody can suggest how to resolve the factory strike so they will build it when I finish modifying the order that would be great.

    fisher guy Thanks this.

Unld last night and made it home after a profitable week. Alternator crapped out Monday night in OH. Gen/inverter got rained on and crapped out the night before so there went that option. Waited until morning and drove to Columbus F-liner and snagged a new Leece Neville quoted $290 on phone. Asked for the schnieder JB hunt price - paid $250 LOL! Shop ripped off my old pulley and swapped to the new unit no charge. Props to FYDA F-liner shop. Then went up the block to the CAT shop and snagged a new fuel shut off solenoid that I've been needing. $150!!! I said I didn't need the gold plated model. But paid out the nose anyway. Tired of shutting the engine off by stalling it out or raising the hood to do it by hand.
Then missed my partial home since the main load took too long to load.
Terriers went nuts they so happy to be home.

Sitting here in Okc. Got my wife on the plane so she can go home.
No I did not drive my trk. into the low overhead at the parking area like England did the other week in Salt Lake.

So now here I sit looking for a paying ld.. To many low rates here. 2 mile for a lowboy and then you have to pay permits out of that..
Looks like this might be a long wkend..

    Probably just run untill Dec.
Still got to put the money away for the winter off.
Had the funds to take 2 weeks off and still have the cushion so to speak, plus the other mess I'm still dealing with from last year.
I'm afraid to leave the country and the other people want to met to settle and I can't make it in the time frame they request.

I understand, hope any settlement moves you to a better place. I can't imagine not seeing the wife for 4 or 5 months.

If you were here in Denver, there are 3 66' propane tanks going to UT for $6+ mile so guy called me about. Couldn't think of a place I wanted to go less than UT.
