Really? So the liftgate is just a waste of time your saying. I didn't know they kept all the dry goods in the back. I see the guys lowering the lift gate and pulling the pallet into burger King.

It actually took me about 5 or 6 weeks to get hired but that was a while ago. $800 per week training and made anywhere for $700 to $1250 depending on load count and runs for the week at my location. I would like to hear what the training pay is at others.

Yes, imo, it wasn't necessary. The reefer freezes from the front so it kind of made since to me that it goes freezer/cooler/dry... I dont recall anything on the dry side being heavy.
I dont know how other distribution centers have it set up though.

    JRut Thanks this.

Most of the liftgate loads are center-divide, in which the freezer would be on the left side and dry/refrigerated would be on the right. They might have to "j-hook" the dry/rfg pallets in the trailer to get it to work, like this:

    [tail]D D R F F F F F F F F F [nose]
    ......D D R D D R D D R D D R

^^ The first stop would be the five pallets on the back left side of the trailer in that scenario.

Or, if a trailer doesn't have a center divide, they could set the whole trailer to 25f and load it straight back without a bulkhead, but such a thing would never happen ;)

    JRut Thanks this.

It's not difficult. We deliver Dardin with liftgates. We don't have center divide trailers. Usually first stop is big enough that once you pull their dry and cooler you can get to freezer with power jack. Keep in mind it's not uncommon for an Olive Garden to be 400+ cases. Worst case situation you have to hand the first stops freezer out side door. Usually 100 cases or less. Then after that you take it all off the back. Hell. We need a little exercise. It's so easy we are all gaining weight. We sit pallets at back door and count it while they roll it in. at 22 cents a case not a bad gig. We get motels every night even though we have sleepers. Half our drivers made 75+ last year. I did it with a 4 day work week. Home by 3 on Fridays.
