A/C is fixed and we are rolling. The new reset hours for teams are a killer. Since I drive nights, a reset for me takes 46 hours now and if you have had a reset recently, you can take fours days off and still not get a reset. Stupid.

we work for USX. Didn't get any such message. With our (team) hazmat endorsement we get paid $.48 CPM. We are trucking right along. We are using our midnight hours and haven't had to reset yet under the new rules. In our pay week we currently have over 3k miles. Pay week doesn't end until noon on Wednesday. I think the solos will feel it more but we will see. It's all about timing. But so far we seem to be doing fine.

I agree that it certainly isn't perfect. And the reset also depends on when you stop driving. I usually drive at night also but depending on when we actually get a load, get there, get loaded if its a live load, and get in the road will determine when I actually stop driving. It's a bit of a juggling act. We have home time coming up and either we reset well before we go so we can reset again while we are home or we baby our midnight hours as much as we can so we can reset during home time. If we wind up resetting a few days before home time then we are screwed with low hours when we get back..

I have pictures on my cell phone of the messages about paying the 70 cents to hazmat teams.
    Message was from team fleet.

we are in a dedicated account. Perhaps the message was just for anyone NOT on dedicated?? We have a weekly guarantee. 4700 miles (not pay check to pay check-of course! But Saturday to Saturday) so I guess that 70 cents doesn't apply to us.

Ceva. We like it pretty well. It's def not regional. We go all over the place. Mostly hub to hub. Easy in easy out BUT then sometimes we get a broker load thru Ceva that takes us to some 'interesting' places!! Lol. We really like the Boston run. Takes us to the docks. Deliver at 7am. And the next load out of there is at 11pm so we get to walk to docks and tourist areas and eat fresh seafood. The bus comes right down there so we are gonna go see some sights next time we go.

I was dedicated team also. Loved the run but found a local job home every day and home weekends.
USX was a great starter company. I enjoyed my first year and had lots of miles.

Thats us. So far so good. I mean, it is what you make it. And we are just starting out. Sometimes we sit a little. Other times they make the runs so tight we wonder if we can make them on time. It's been a great learning experience. We have been just toying with the idea of taking the next step of leasing or o/o. But we have sooooo much to learn about trucking, never mind about actually running a business successfully. I'm doing a lot of reading here & talking with others about it. Some who are successful and others who have failed, just to get an idea of what's out there. We do not want to just jump into something without research and preparation. We gotta set up properly, but I'm not even sure it would be worth it. From what I have heard, we wouldn't make that much more after costs than what we are making now & we would have all the headaches that go with it. We are not in any rush.
