So you tell me, why would they close the Smyrna location unless they are losing LOTS of business in the area? Being so close to Nashville, and right by the I-24 corridor, (not far AT ALL from I-40/65) problems are afoot and rampant!! -

Talked to Angie today and she said the current wait is somewhere around a couple months or maybe up to 4-5. Just thought I would pass that on. -
I got the same info Catfish. I'm currently in school and wanted to go with Maverick, and the recruiter told me that with my record and the information I provided to them I could start with them no problem. However at the current time, they can only place drivers with at least six months experience immediately. Student drivers would have a wait at least four and possibly six months before being able to get placed with a trainer.
Her suggestion to me was to try and find another reputable company to drive for and keep in contact with them for openings. Any experience I could gain would only help once I get started with them.
I really wanted to go Mav, but unfortunately I can't wait. Would go stir crazy waiting ... lol. Now to research for another company. -
She did say the specialized Div was a shorter wait BUT I am not interested and want to be happy where I go. Im not one to jump from job to job. -
Just make sure you know how to trip plan and not have problems with it, or backing up.They just fired my hubby today for needing more help with trip planning. Make sure you know it all if not ask questions, or they will can you also. They didn't really teach him much in training about it and he already had his CDL but no experiance with a big rig or long haul.
