Can't argue about s&*^ happens and common sense. I'm just saying when you try and follow the rules and it goes South on you at least you trying to do it the right way. Even if it didn't work. Then you say,WTF. As far as being the best. We have an old saying in Ski racing. Have sharp edges and be humble.

That is my ''arguement''...
The rules set forth by people whom never drove before. This is my issue..Just because some turds that have ''power'' and Millions of dollars see it that way, does not make it the word of GOD.These TWITS are not GOD.It is based on there crooked studies and Opinions.
I see some of there finding to be ''accurate'' most findings in the field are,IMO FALSE and very Dangerous. Most of there so called Safty Regs are Revenue Generating Machines to screw truckers and drivers out of there money...So therefore i am not a Monkey or a Robot.I drive and follow the ''regs'' that fit me...The others are tossed out the window for the SHEEPLE and the Believers of there B/S...okiedokie Thanks this. -
Self preservation takes priority over everything else. You might say I am on the Fringe Element when it comes to authority. That's why I've driven off-road most of my career. If you screw up it's prolly your own fault. From what I've read on this Forum I am luck to be done in a few years.

I was traveling one day through the Gorge in NC on I 40 one day talking on the Ole CB. This Old timer came back saying the Day you stop learning the day you better park your truck, for you are heading for a wreck, Your Wreck. Then another came across the Day I call my self a professional Driver is the day I retire, for till then I am still a green horn learning the ropes.
Something to think aboutTonythetruckerdude, Rick_C, okiedokie and 1 other person Thank this. -
Your VERY lucky to be done and retired....
I am watching a ''new'' driver whom is a close pal of mine...
You should see what they put him through...All for a 500.00 paycheck...

Prolly wouldn't be a trucker in this day and age. Not much tolerance for BS. Oh no.....now I'm sounding like you.
I'm jumping off at the next exit. You have a safe and great 4th.

Plenty of crappy drivers out there that have never wrecked... rest assured! -
I just don't see how judgmental attitudes help anyone. It seems like the veteran drivers don't WANT the new guys to be successful. You're either born a supertrucker or you're a complete idiot who doesn't take their job seriously. There's no middle ground.
Look, I'm new to trucking and this experience has been one of the more difficult things I've ever done in my life, but at the same time it isn't rocket science. There's a huge learning curve to this work, but stop regarding it as something only a select few elite members of society can and should do. Help the new guys no matter how ridiculous their questions seem to be or no matter how bad their errors are. You can whine and cry all you want for some "good old days" trucker nostalgia, but that doesn't change the fact that then is then and now is now. Help the new guys. Help them and stop judging them. They're who you're sharing the road with now whether you like it or not. You can't change it, so for crap's sake be a good example and give us some of that trucker brotherhood friendship you talk so highly about that apparently doesn't exist anymore! You wonder why that doesn't exist anymore, yet you are the very ones keeping that rift between drivers going. It isn't the new guys doing this. -
my '08 Volvo, burns o.7G/HR @ low idle, 0.4G/HR at optimum idle. (that's bumped up 2 notches from idle.)
