I'm not a newbie. I know better than to believe everything the recruiters say. They tell the company version of the truth, which is why I talk with drivers too. I know they're paid to bring people in, which is why it makes no sense to lie to me and say I was removed because she couldn't get a hold of me. If she had called and said there aren't enough people because of the holiday so I'll have to move your orientation, that would make sense and be easier to digest, but no, it was "I tried calling you multiple times over the past few days" which is a flat out lie. It really doesn't matter if I still want to drive for TA or not. She finally sent me an email yesterday that basically said that due to the delays in getting me to orientation, there are no more open positions in my area and I'll have to reapply in August if I'm still interested. Whatever. I've moved on.

It's not really worth the wait, I've been here for 10 months and there is way too much bs involved with this company.
I know someone will say if I don't like it why am I still here, #1 it costs too much money to switch jobs, #2 I almost have a year in and that will look better on my work history than if I quit b4 then, #3 I'm just trying harder not to quit and see if it will turn the corner, maybe so maybe not, but I am waiting it out to see for a change -
I noticed on their website I didn't see a manual shift in their tractor in the Vid. Do they have 10 speed eaton road ranger manual transmissions? Don't want to drive a automatic. Give them to the girls. lol, I know ill catch carp for that.
Marky84 Thanks this. -

I would not ever drive for this company again..First of all, they dispatch you on illegal locations without thinking about your license, and when DOT asks you why you are there and the only response is that you can give them..Automatic LVL 1 comes out...And yes its happened..then the company(Transport America) wants you to pay for their fault for putting you there by sending you to a power hungry safety guy that wants to someday be terminal manager. and threatens your job if you don't sign a waiver saying it was your fault to be in that location..The Eagen office act like they are better than you are..all because they sit behind computers..They make you double log the first 2 weeks when you start driving for them..which is highly illegal. To be honest I just hope this company just goes completely under..they do everything cowboy style..I just would not recommend this company to any driver..

im sorry for ranting badly about this company..but if you want to keep your CDL's I would not recommend going there...They are getting freight from US Xpress, so if that don't say anything to you..I don't know what will...

that never happened to me so yeah ive been driving for them since Dec 2012.

Worked for Transport America, had a load to be picked up in Muscatine Iowa and it was a triple stop..it had to go to 3 places in California around santa fe springs...got the load information and threw in a macro to get directions..the first two stops were not bad..a little tight to get in but I managed to put it in there..the last stop was a small business office located inside an illegal location for a 53 foot long trailer to be in...I nearly hit a "nearly hit" didn't hit it a stop light pole...got on the phone and called 911...The police arrived on the scene and tried helping me out to no prevail and asked if I could've pulled it into different area..as we both looked around...that one area was the only area I could have done it..So now, The Police was on my side for this one..Had a DOT office come out...and he told me to tell Transport America that the only way to get that truck in that location was to either A: take out the light pole and receive a heavy fine..or B: have a tow truck help me slide the trailer over to get it in there and pay out a 3000.00 towing bill...The choice was on them considering they should've done a better planning on that load..Either Way, DOT was not going to give me the Ticket...but was definitely fining the Company for their Screw up..so when I told Transport America that..They got ticked, and told me to do whatever I needed to do to get that load there and just be done with it..So I told DOT what they said..And he then called them..And when he got off the phone with them(and wasn't too happy after that, but not at me) he told me to get into my truck and run that light pole over..When we got done with it all...Transport America throwed that stupid remark of asking me...What could have we done to prevented all this...and my response to that was..I should've never worked for a company that's going to send me in Illegal spotsand nearly have my license revoked for their dumbness...which made my driver manager and safety manager mad...So I got called into office in Atlanta and had all those big wigs from Eagen to come down to have a nice little chat with me..they wanted me to sign a waiver saying it was all my fault and I will pay for the fine..which came out to be over $5000.00 btw...and I told them all..with all due respect, but you can all kiss my rear and im going back to work...After I went back to work...they started playing with me..giving me shorter runs, lowering my miles..giving me impossible delivery dates..It was just horrible...and if it never happened to you...I can respect that..But I know what they did to me.That place acts like they work really hard to get you on with them..and Sunny (the recruiter) acts like she pushed really hard for you to be there..And she also tells you to remain quiet and don't ask questions on how they do things when youre at orientation..and when I heard about the Double logging that goes on? I immediately started wondering..but I gave them a chance and I paid the price for it...so its a lesson in life.Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this.

LOL, Thanks for your input, even though I have no clue on what you just opined about! What is a illegal location? mexico? Course why would DOT be there, whats a automatic lvl 1? Why would the safety guy be at the illegal location? Selling lvl 1, no doubt. Maybe terminal managers get better lvl 1, well sitting behind a computer does make one better, im doing it now. So they make you double log, on a qual com? LMAO, seems like you have some more issues then driving for them!
