I see no reason to not go with Choice. It is the very best reason to lease from Schneider! Imagine deciding where you want to go and when rather than someone who has probably never driven a truck understanding where to send you. Also you can preplan you time off. It offers all the freedom owning your own truck should give you without the hassle of dealing with the shippers and/or load boards trying to be sure you get paid etc.

Sounds good, I'm staying on the Choice Program. Tomorrow going to call Schneider Finance to reserve an Evolution, hopefully I can get a White or Platinum truck. Also want to find out if it comes with the Tripac APU.

Their 2014's come in black or platinum only and they do have APU's.

I agree.. just have to watch preplanning out to far b/c the load board will change alot.. Also like atruckr will testify to there are times that loads will get changed after you book them or get cancelled. Just FYI.. When I was on the board before I'd try to plan a week at a time. I built a spread sheet in excel and would use it to see just how much I'd be making off the runs if I booked them and would work through different options before I booked it. Now that can be risky b/c you have a lot of people that are looking at the board but I just felt more comfortable with doing it that way.. Also you will pick up where the lanes are that freight is better in and pays good so if you see a load going that way you will eventually get to the point where you can pick it knowing that there will be something to get you out of the area.. I'm sure in the last year and half or so that it's changed some just offering what I went through two years ago :) I'm ready to jump in and do it again though to me it's a challenge and can be fun trying to "connect the dots" so to speak :)

Awesome! I'll go for Platinum then. Do you know if they come with Predictive Cruise?

TXDirtroad, thanks for the advice. This is all new to me. But I'll catch on quickly. Was looking at Mint Loads, is that the load board Schneider uses?

anytime we all should be on here to help not bash like I've seen some do.. and no on the Mint loads the SNI loads on there are the broker loads that didn't get assigned or didn't get picked up by a choice driver.. they go through a deal called crossroads and you have a secure log in to get into it.. It looks and operates like that link off mint does, but you will see empty miles, loaded miles and how much total pay is, and it will also breakdown to what that value is per mile too

Can't wait to get onto Crossroads. But I've been checking out Mint loads, and I see loads going and leaving San Diego. So looks like when it's time to go home after being out a month, I shouldn't have a problem getting home, only bad thing Schneider told me I gotta take the trailer home, and I live on the beachfront, so parking is limited.

how far away from a OC do you live? b/c you could always drive your personal vehicle there and trade out or you can drop the trailer there and put a king pin lock on it so it's yours when you go back out :)
