I was just wondering if you did any research before you chose TransAm? Yes, we have automatics, and the first time you are sitting in traffic in any big city, you will thank God that you do. Now if you think you need to have a stick, there's always Werner or Swift! :biggrin_2559:
I did wonder about only eleven days on the trainer truck, but I figure if you were dangerous or incompetent they would not put you in your own truck. Prepass will return. Good luck!

I have to say when I first started researching Trans Ams lease I was down right nervous about if it would work or not. When I signed on the dotted line I was thinking maybe Im signing my life away, but it has been a good experience for me. Now sometimes there are days that make me want to go back to bed and say not today. For the most part I am making decent money, but not every week is a financially good week. Take the good with the bad. I am supposed to be signing a 5 year lease on July 19 and taking possession of the new T-680. In my opinion if you want to own your truck that is the way to do it. The only reason I can see doing a 6 month lease is to get your feet wet, and see how it goes, or not wanting to lease to own a truck. And that is what I did start off with a 6 month lease and try it out. Now its time to proceed to the next step. Leasing is not for everyone, but OTR experience, and hard work will pay off on a lease deal. That is just my opinion.

No matter how bad you are, if your willing to lease, they'll take ya!!!! Not saying that to be "sour grapes", just a fact I've seen with my own eyes.

I dropped my trailer at the Walmart today and then sent a 050 with the trailer number I picked up. My 009 also had the new trailer number. I get 12 miles away from Fort Morgan and dispatch is asking where 148404 was. X____X I was like "Uhhhh.... it's at Walmart still loaded. Was a D&H. Was I supposed to take Sunny D to Cargill?" I swear, these people. And typical Cargill, waiting til the last mnute to have it ready. Early pickup was 7/3 1800 and dropdead is 7/6 0101. Im stuck on a 10 til 0400 but am dropping it in Olathe to finally go to KW to get my hood shock replaced. Still, today was a good day. And tomorrow should be too. :)

Unfortunately, that is true. I think we have all seen it happen too many times. There are some that you just know aren't going to make it, and you wonder what on earth TransAm was thinking??? Then you have the ones that are regulars on here that you know are giving it their all and are willing to make the necessary sacrifices. That is the main reason my husband never leased, he's not willing to sacrifice coming home on a regular basis.

Panhandle, I didn't tell you before, but you are the reason husband went with TransAm. :biggrin_25519: It's because you told it like it is ....no sour grapes ....just the plain old truth.

Boy!!!! Ya'll was reading some old threads then!!! I haven't been there in 2 years.

My favorite LO story and bad trainer combined. Ran into an LO one time, while still at TA, that was dropping a reefer off. It was still running, cause he'd never been shown how to turn it off. Duh!!!! Ended up spending 3 or 4 hrs with him, giving a crash course...... in everything!!!!

Nope, at the time the threads were current..... husband has just been there that long! See, there you go ...spending time giving another driver a crash course...you were another TransAm driver that helped other TA drivers.

I actually had to call my hubby one day and have him walk me through programming one of the ancient reefers, lol. He drove for Transam first and was fortunately able to help. Its a pain when you can barely reach the controls!
