i prefer pulling reefers, i worked for Shaffer- they treat drivers decent. Drive more than 3500 miles in a week and it triggers a random.... but i liked them dispite doing 7 whiz quizzes in 3 months.
Roads West was very good for me, i did very well there, Knight bought them
James Helwig was great ! Trans Am bought them
West Way was sorry. Dick simon bought them. Stinky Dick is now Central Refrig. i have friend from the westway daze that stayed though all that and is quite happy at Central Ref
i've been pulling milk tanks past year and is looking to go back to dragging noisy wagons again.. Cuz -
Anybody here drive or has driven for FFE & how well are they liked by you drivers?

Redwolf,
Do you haul Reefers at nite and unload in the am and then sleep during the day and then load in the pm and drive?
Early am and late Night are lighter in traffic, as far as other trucks, waiting for a space to be?
If you get sick , I mean bad ##* sick and you know it is not safe to drive and you just park it for several days, and the reefer has to be picked up and taken by a bouncing rig, are those infractions on your record?
Do Reefers pay more than flat bed?
More maintance I would think, wrestling with a TARP then keeping vigil on the x tra's involved in a reefer?
Stay true to your mind, body and soul out there with your hands on the wheel.
May the Big Rig's Angel of "Cool n Smooth" always be at your side!

We mostly deliver during the day. I have a couple of them that want it early AM, but not many.
No infractions on you for being sick. I got a stomach flu two weeks ago and couldn't make my appt, and they said they would either push back the appt, or relay it off of me. You would get in more trouble trying to drive while sick than telling them you just can't do it.
At Roehl, reefer's pay the same extra .02 a mile that flatbeds do. The extra work is limited to keeping the reefer fuel tank full and jump starting the dang battery when it's really cold outside. Once you get it running, just put the unit on "continuous" or take it off the cycle mode and it will do fine until you can get it to the shop. -
Take it off the Cycle mode, and that means?
Have you heard of Jim Palmer Trucking, they're Reefer!
