What are supposed to be the benefits of the new HOS? I see none

    Anne ferro stated she wants to cut the hours even further. Quoted in the truckers news paper. The fmcsa stated it wants zero truck accidents or deaths .

    Easier to work something up quick should they get stopped. They basically keep two pages going for each day and just present the one that will get them through the inspection.

    Zero? Hilarious. I did 14 yrs as a deputy sheriff. Every time I went to a semi vs car accident, and I went to many, nearly every time it was the car's fault. I had several where the driver of the car survived and simply said, " I just didn't see the semi coming". Cars pulling out or crossing the center line were the big reasons. Yet they blame trucks.

    WRONG... Here in Delaware, Ohio even US Express is struggling to be able to keep their accout here. As for my drivers and I? We love it. Too many ASSUME about the megas...YET know nothing.

    30 min rule?!?! What 30 min rule?!? It's a 8hr sleeper, 300 mile,2 hr break, 300 mile and all over again rule BABY!

    This has been going on for decades. This is normal competition among the larger dry van carriers. They simply trade accounts (and dollars). When you have a market that needs 500 trucks to satisfy shipper needs but the larger carriers collectively have 600 trucks there, you have a problem, somebody will lose, somebody will "win". The new HOS rules and their "costs" pale in comparison to normal competitive effects on profitability in a flooded market.
