GOOD! Don't drink and drive AT ALL!! Not a freaking DROP!!

Why do all of you who enjoy drinking give idiots who KILL people so much leeway?? Are you crazy??? Punish them 10 times if you can!!! Punish them over and over and over again so it will STOP!!!

Anyone who drinks and drives AT ALL needs to be taken off the road. Period. No excuses, no trial, no leeway, GET OUT FROM BEHIND THAT WHEEL or stay 100% sober.

Any of you who excuses ANY drinking and driving is just asking for trouble. Drunk driving kills more people than just about anything else after inexperience with speeding.

How many 40 yr olds do you know who ever got in an accident because they were speeding? Inexperience? Nope. But if they ever drank, bet they crashed or ditched at least once. If not, it WILL happen. They should be kept OFF THE ROAD FOREVER!!!!

It's really simple - it's NOT your RIGHT to DRIVE, it's a PRIVILEGE so stop abusing it and STOP DRINKING AND DRIVING!!!! Even ONE drink impairs your reaction time. ONE.

Call them fanatical all you like but MADD has NOTHING but good intents and I support them 110%. Everyone who drinks even ONE drink and drives does not deserve to hold a license. Period.

Anyone who drinks then drives AT ALL just won't face reality and accept facts. They think they should be allowed to do whatever they want, including drinking and driving. Otherwise, they're being treated unfairly (insert sarcasm here). They're STUPID!!!

I just knew this thread could be reduced to the notion that a guy with 2-3 beers in him after work, would be held in the same light as the drivers who've plowed into a minivan full of kids after boozing it up all night.

Yeah, even the guy who has only had 2 beers in him and gets pulled over should be charged with, at the very least, beerslaughter.

Yeah. "Only" two beers he says. So that's, what, .02 for some people? And for some people to suggest that alcohol actually makes their driving better is ludicrous.

Well so much for D.A.R.E. I think it failed.

If the guy with 2-3 beers kills like the boozing all night guy does is the family comforted by the fact their loved ones was killed by just a few drinks and not a lush on the road? Buy your booze and take it home to drink or get a cab or a DD. Different people have different reactions. Lots of variables in the BAC. Bartender fill er up (glass) Gas station (tank) filler up. Grave digger (grave) filler up. Alcohol and driving does not mix. I have seen too many dead people on account of it.

I think that people with cell phones should go to jail if they kill someone when they are driving. Because you know how it works. They are just going too answer the cell phone and then hang up. Then they are on it for a few more questions. then they here the tone in the background they have another call. next thing you know they run a fuel hauler off the road into a catholic grade school ... I also think they ought to send the cell phone engineer the warehouseman the shipper and the truck driver that hauled that wicked cell phone all to jail for life.

I'll not argue that drunk driving is smart. Not at all. But I think some here are posting off of emotions and are missing the point of the direction MADD wants to go - which is to make a criminal out of everyone.

They've succeeded in getting legislation passed that makes for severe penalties and fines for those who've driven hammered and killed someone. I get that. But now, they are trying to put the person who has 2 beers in them and gets pulled over cuz their licence plate light is out, on the same plane as the mega drunk who has soused a fifth of whiskey and just plowed into a minvan (of religous children for extra drama)

I'm truely saddened for the mothers (How come there is no group "Dads against Drunk drivers"?? ) and fathers who've lost kids to drunken drivers. But the problem with MADD is that they are legislating their enraged emotions. They want EVERYONE to suffer and feel their pain. That's why they want to fry the guy who gets pulled over for a light out and has 2 beers in him.

How many people here remember back a few years ago at the OUTRAGE from MADD when one of the beer companies came out with a bottle that had a bigger mouth opening? Christ, how come they never b' tched about a wine glass with a far bigger opening in which to sip/guzzle from?

Much like Peta, HSUS, PATT Crash, Brady bill supporters, these groups are all the same. Pass legislation making fines stiffer and stiffer and ways to do things much more restrictive or user unfreindly and expensive. Then a few years latter, come back pleading with examples laced with mega drama, about how we need to close the "loopholes" yada yada. Rinse lather and repeat 2 years later. And again. And again.

I'm sure some here will jump me on this. But if you can compehend the primary point I'm trying to make, you'll know that I am against the idea of putting persons with 2 beers in them, into the same boat as the ####### mega drunks who've killed people on the highways.

The primary point that I am trying to make if you never drink and drive even one beer then you don't have to worry about getting a DUI. As I have stated before I have seen enough death from alcohol on the road. Why chance it? Too many people drink one then another. I have nothing against people who drink. I have a problem with people who drink and drive. I have seen too many people killed because of someone's couple of beers.
