Unless those motors were headed for the scrap heap that driver will probably be unemployed when he arrives at the receiver with those straps over the engines. Chain the cradle below the vibration dampeners to the trailer then ask the loader if you can pull your bungees to the trailer or if you have to wrap under the motor.

Here's the last one I pulled, 4 chains to the trailer and since it was one that had been in a rollover accident on another companies truck I was allowed to bungee to the trailer and have s-hooks up on the tarp high enough that they could touch where the motor was at. Another no-no at most jet engine shops, bungees aren't supposed to be hooked anywhere that they could touch the motor.

Straps are supposed to be under the rub rails not over. That's the first problem. Second he should have atleast 1 more strap on each piece near the rear.

Kinda like using chains to tie down plastic pipe...
I know years and years ago we did, but alot of timber on top of the pipe.
    Or chains on sheet rock...

Why on earth would you chain sheet rock? plastic pipe with timber I could see sheet rock no. Although strapping pipe is much easier IMO.

Hey now don't go telling my secrets. I chained that load because somebody decided to play the old we're going to unstrap your load, take your straps, and then see what you do the next morning gag. I had no choice but to chain those shingles.:biggrin_2552: I think it was the rookie inititaion:biggrin_2559:. But seriously you have seen chains on shingles?

Are they scrap engines ? I don't see the engine stands?:biggrin_25510:How much each one weigh? Straps are no good. You will end up bending fuel lines and trashing all kinds of electronic boxes every time you tighten those straps, Are you using chains under the tarps?..:biggrin_25521:Do you have the proper coverage ?..Insurance:biggrin_2552: ..$100,000 Crgo is not going to cover these Two Engines if they are in working condition...:biggrin_25513:I don't see a Head Board on the tailer do you have one on the truck?..:biggrin_25524: What is your over all hight?....13'6"?

at the bottom of the pic, you can see the two small bulges in the tarps at the deck of the trailer. Those bulges in the tarp are caused by the caster wheels. The engine cradle has wheels and slots for a forklift. They roll it out t your truck and pick it up with a forklift. When it's in the air, you fold the wheels up and lock them in place so that the cradle sits flat on the deck.

The engines I've pulled weighed between 14000 to 18000 lbs, some f the engines have had small wings near the top which made the loads 11 ft wide. You shouldn't be anywhere near 13'6 in height. Even if they're aren't working, they're valuable. Header board wouldn't come into on that load.
