Actually, I have a college degree (B.A. English), never done drugs, never been arrested and I have my own place. A two bedroom condo in one of the richest neughborhoods in my area. I was a school teacher at one point. I was laid off and didnt want to go back to teaching so that is why i am going into trucking, plus it has been a dream of mine since I was 13 to do this. So, don't judgd me because only my Lord and Savior can judge me.

BTW it is pretty funny getting made of by some dude that has Sponge Bob as his icon. Real manly dude.

So a college degree never got you more than 30k a year ? How can you live in one if the richest neighborhoods on 30k ? Oh and don't most teachers know how to spell neighborhood ? I wasn't judging YOU per-say, just wondering what people think, that make less 30k per year, are thinking when they say they want to be drivers..BTW Sponge Bob is the bomb !!

I said the richest neighborhood for my area. I live in a low income area. I taught at a low income school for 5 years. Started at 25k and got 1k raise every year to 30k. Then the levy didnt pass so a bunch of us got laid off. I went to call center work and got laid off from that. So, like I said I had been wanting to do this since I was 13. I opened the paper one day and there were 15 driving jobs and 3 call center jobs. So, I am putting it all on the line to chase my dreams. That is why I want to do it. Sorry for the comments, but I get sick of people lumping me in with all the knuckle dragging, slopped foreheaed, theee toed trogladites, that never shower and dont know what it means to be a profressional or a trucks driver. I will take your word on Sponge Bob. Never really watched it. I love Looney Toons and Tom and Jerry.

There are so many driving jobs because what the companies promise drivers is very rarely delivered. It seems as though these companies go for the down & outers that have very few other options...you could be different, but truck driving a dream? really? ...Will you be paying for your school out of pocket or will you go to a company that will train you and you work for them to pay off your CDL training? ..either way good luck...I won't be the first to tell you that your dream as well as the others who share that same dream..find out early on how much of a nightmare trucking really is..

Yeah, really a dream. I love trucks and I love to travel. I know how hard it is. I have been on several trips with my uncle on summer breaks. I am getting funding through the county so going to a private school. I know it is hard and there will be frustration, but sit at a desk for 8 hours a day trying to sell useless crap to people and I think you would be begging for your steering wheel. Lol. I have a job waiting for me with Cret Carriers when I graduate. I am looking forward to it. Thanks for the best wishes. Good luck to you and stay safe.

maybe the driving test was 2000 miles, which in a truck as slow as a Boyd truck, would take a year and cost $34,000...i guess

still how did you make 34 a year but only worked 4 days, how did you only drive 2000 miles a week and only be there 4 days. how do you know how anything of the company is if you really never made it thru orientation/training. how do you know they lied to you on home time you never where there the two weeks to find out how they would get you home. I understand why you are upset but your statement goes way beyond what you could know about this company and how they operate. you should have just said went there and got sent home for no reason that i can think of or were told.

I worked at Crete. Good place to gain some experience. You will most likely make decent money with them. They can be irritating at times.
