When I drove an 07 780 automatic like yours. It happen to me twice I did the same thing 90k miles later got out of it now 2 years later there's a driver in It never had another issue.
Had a 07 Columbia doing the same crap, replaced the xy shifter and clutch, still shows fault on dash till this day. No issues runs like a champ. heck runs better then the never 780s I shift we got Lol
Actually once you pull the fuses in the battery compartment, the codes are cleared from the Eaton computer. Our drivers have to do that from time to time to make it back to the shop. Unfortunatly once they do that I can not tell what happened. Because there is now no code. When it happens again...and it will...go to your onboard computer before you pull the fuses and write down the mid pid sid fmi numbers so you will then know the cause of the failure. Or depending on the model you may be able to cycle the key three times and it will give you a fault code number that is eaton specific on the dash display.
