Use a little intelligence and figure it out. If it's not on-duty, not sleeper berth and not driving, what else would it be? Mars?
-
.....wright and now tell me if this is OFF-DUTY time, how to convince the DOT officer that I sleep 10 hours during this time and not played blackjack all night in Vegas....
-
That's your own problem if you want to be that irresponsible.
-
...Are you saying that you agree that OFF-DUTY time can not be count as 10 hours in the sleeper, I take this as YES.
-
Wow, I said that? Hmm, show me where.
-
...so then, you agree the OFF-DUTY can be count as a sleeper, good luck with that......

Off-duty is off duty. Like it says, you can have up to 2 hours off-duty in the jump seat, running team, as long as you have eight consecutive hours in the sleeper, before or after the off-duty period. You're being obtuse. You got nailed by an ill-informed cop and now think he had the correct answer. Inform yourself, carry a Green Book, know the rules well enough that he can't do anything about it. Or be a dick like you are now, whatever floats your boat.
-
No, I prefer to play safe and put all the hours in the sleeper while I am residing in the truck, because who knows, maybe I will be approached by another "ill-informed cop" and get ticket for nothing - go fight these tickets in court and prove your self if that makes you happy.Last edited: Jul 8, 2013

We just went through an audit; the auditor pointed at logs like yours and said "he's lying, no one stays in the sleeper for 10 hours." The ones that had off-duty before or after the sleeper period were given less attention.
