honestly is it worth sticking it out is the question..in your mind did you just have a merry go time driving? if so then get your lic. back and continue on driver people will hire you the demand is too high to not hire you. Personally i wouldnt mind having a job back at home with my family but we dont always get what we want. deep down though you know if its worth it or not.

With just 1 out of 7 years you should be able to get another job, may not be the best of Jobs but a job none the less. But is it worth it? As Crete32791 stated you are the only one that can answer that.

Don't think you would be wasting your time if you wanted to get back in the field and pretty sure you would be able to find another job. I guess it depends on the circumstances of the accident. You say big accident but what does that mean? Why did the dmv suspend your license? I did not know the dmv had the authority to suspend a license because of "an accident" per se.

Yep, I agree with those replies. If it's all you want to do (or have to), then do what you have to and make sure you have everything as it occurred and what you did to correct it on hard copy. Most companies (larger one) will have their requirements posted, but there is something called "hiring discretion" that some Safety Departments will use to get drivers back into trucks. A local Mom-n-Pop company is another option. Sure, the equipment may suck, and or the money/runs aren't the best, but it's good on a resume/application to show you were hired after your incident when it comes time to take the next step in your driving career.

I was referred to the safety dept of DMV by the officer at the accident scene. They gave me only 7 days to complete all cdl tests including driving tests. I couldn't did all the tests except for driving didn't have a truck. So I'm suspended upon completion of the driving part of the test. As for the accident I took out a light post, totaled the truck.
