you know, it seems kind of misleading when you withhold info. Anyway, for the officer to do this, my instincts tell me that you drove straight into the pole. This isn't your ordinary, take a stop sign down with the trailer accident. This isn't your first accident either, is it? If they suspended your license, you could go and get the normal class d reinstated easily. I had my license suspended years ago (company didn't pay an overweight fine), and I had to take all the testing over again, to keep all my endorsements. But I didn't have to take the driving part again. It seems like that's the driving test is the main one they want to see you pass.
Do you have any friends that have their own truck?
need some advice

I admit I don't know specifics of California Motor vehicle law, but have never seen a case where anyone's CDL is suspended for the simple act of a one vehicle, property damage only, accident. Something very vital seems missing or unsaid. May I ask what is the exact/specific reason for the suspension? Just the accident with the pole, solely?? Or additional details? And... Is it an actual CDL driver's license suspension, of your previously valid CDL?

You took out a lite pole huh,did you hit it straight on?Accidents happen every day in this industry and many drivers get 2nd and 3rd chances with their company. But to total a trk, that's a huge question mark.Any damage over 10k is a major accident.I think it'll be along time before any companies will hire you.Think about it,would you want somebody to drive your trk after they totaled one?I would'nt.Was you going too fast and not paying attention or what?As for getting your suspension lifted, may I ask why? You seem dangerous in a moving vehicle.

One accident in 7 years i don't think will be really that much of a barrier to you. Like previously posted you prob will have to lessen your expectations with a company till you get some behind the wheel time, then after a couple years of no problemo, go to a company with better everything. Don't surrender your cdl, you will regret that. There's always someone somewhere willing to give you a job, just don't get burnt.

My case was different. i was not at fault in court. but due to a cops lazy and incorrect paperwork i still have a preventable on my record. all my stuff was legal. i was able to get hired by 3 fullapoop companies in the past year before i finally found another profitable one which should be my permanent home. i too had 7 years in before i had an unlucky day. good luck

Were you ticketed and if so what was the violation, also was it property damage only or were there injuries involved? How is your record besides the accident? If you were charged, what shows up is important,if it's a serious violation you will want to try to get it reduced at the least.
