did my Iowa State orientation....and have a blister to prove it...did a crap ton of walking yesterday....now to find housing down there....LOL called in and got sherri this morning....I didn't like what was being offered so I am still at home....lol

 

Ah hell Mic, move into the dorms and get the full college experience!

 

I would move into campus housing but its full...so I has to look elswhere for housing.....and rent is not cheap in Ames, will probably be living outside Ames for the best rate...

 

Does VW do alot of business in Elk Grove Village? I'm seeing more and more of you guys here lately.

 

We do pull some stuff out of elk grove village...mostly backhauls to get home....

Well my secret made it out...got a call from mike yesterday asking about if I was going back to school. ...told him yeah...he seemed alright with it....now hopefully I dont get starved out....I doubt it though...told him I would like to stay on part time and work when I have big breaks...

 

Im in ames apartment hunting...and ill tell you what...rent in college towns suck ###...I looked at one place where my living room at the place I rent near sheldon is bigger...and for a hell of a lot less...

Have you tried one of the smaller bedroom communities such as Story City, Nevada, or maybe as far out as Colo or Huxley?

 

I did look into the communities around Ames too, but by they time I figured in Gas, wear and tear, parking, and other costs, it came out to about the same...

I got a place that is $675/mth plus utilities, but I get internet and cable free, and the CyRide bus stop is right out the door (I can ride the buses in Ames for free)....I move in August 1st or maybe a few days earlier...its not a nice big place like my place in Hospers (or as cheap) but I do like it overall.....
