Prime will only take your dog if you are a o/o I just found this out this week as I was getting the ok for the orientation. I had to put the brakes on . I have a boxer and she wants to be with me where ever I go. I will be going to CFI next week It will be less money but It will be worth being with my loyal boxer Laney.

While I understand the reasons behind companies not allowing your dogs(the hair and those who may drive after you and have allergies), I know that when my dh was driving our truck and taking his pup with him, he was MUCH happier out on the road. I imagine it gets very lonely out there...and after all, animals are good (and calming!) for the soul.

So now that everyone's saying that they cannot take their dogs...anyone want a 6 month old black lab? :biggrin_2559:

well... I've had my mistress with me for 6 years now. She's a yellow lab. She is absolutely worthless. She loves everybody. You could steal anything I have if you pet her or feed her. She sheds like a camel. Twice I have had to repair my AC because of hair stopping up the filters and drain plugs. I give her medicine each day that cost 1.80 a day. I have to keep her on a constant diet and exercise program 'cause she is 100 lbs. I had to quit 2 jobs (I'm an Owner operator) because they didn't allow dogs in any trucks. A 10 hour trip takes 12 hours because of her stops. She hurt her hip jumping out of the truck and I had to buy a ramp so she could get in and out on her own.

God...what a nightmare!!!!! ON the other hand.. she has been in the truck over 500,000 miles and I don't go a mile without her. On cold nights.. a one dog night and a sleeping bag are no idle nights. A man said once.... "if your dog is over weight, you aren't getting enough exercise"...
she makes me walk a lot. AND.... she loves me without hesitation. I never use a leash... she goes and comes as I direct... stays and runs as I direct.. if you hurt my dog... you put me in jail for shooting you.....
I wouldn't trade her for anything but my wife, and that is close!!!!!!

I completely understand why companies are not allowing pets. If you look at some of the truckers out there who cant take care of themselves think about how gross their truck is with a pet! Ewww! I wouldn't want that truck either!

Mikel~~~I'm with ya, would prefer less money and be happier with my Ziggy with me. Maybe Ziggy and Laney will be able to have a Boxer PlayDate out on the road someday! We can let them wear each other out! CFI is a really good company from what I hear. Good Luck and keep us posted!!

What is Crete's current policy on pets in the truck?

    Thanks

("TIP"...feel free to add your 2 cents...I'm sure it's on your mind...what else would you be able to do today...drive a truck...NOT)
