Back in Fontana finishing up the 8-hour portion of my split sleeper berth.
Spent over 4 hours getting jerked around at the Von's DC. It's official, I HATE (non-Walmart) GROCERY DCs. On top of that got to pay $181 for the experience......*&%$ lumpers.
Picked up a preload trailer late last night headed for the Walmart DC in Loveland, CO. It's was a non-Walmart DC (handles mostly ocean containers). EVERYBODY was friendly and professional AND it's the newest Swift trailer I've ever seen.
Good night from...

I just take zen approach to grocery dc's, expecting to be there ate least 4 hours and see it as a revenue opportunity for detention pay ... as far lumpers, I assume you are aware that we get reimbursed. It's just the pain in the butt of dealing with them.
In NC, currently sitting on dock for over 4 hours now and informed it will be at least another 2. -
Are you allowed to lump your truck yourself and pocket the lumper money?
-
You won't get paid what the lumpers get paid. if you decide to unload it yourself

Back at the terminal in IGH. Was sent a pplan today, pu recycled junk out of Eau Claire going to Alco, TN. All of 850 miles for Sunday afternoon. Asked what freight in the area, 5 loads, 4 heading back up north and one heading East. Hometime request for Saturday in PHX, so turned it down. Was told earlier about a load that was coming out of Chippewa, WI going to Nogales, and planner gave to somebody else. Later finally a decent pplan, pu at 1400 in Winonna going to Redlands for a drop Monday evening. I know that I can get out of there and stay in the area and actually maybe get some miles. Fontana planning area.
