If you are a lease op, do like I did. I have a wireless remote starter/timer on mine. It's nice to not have to get out of bed to crank up or cut off the truck.

guys petro food is crazy expensive each time i eat. and buying food i feel like isnt that cheap. what do you guys spend on food? weekly
-
I was comfortable and ate well on $50/week so $200/mo. I would end up spending about 70% in the grocery store (water and food) giving me about 30% to eat out with. I never went hungry...but nothing beats home cooking so home time was great!!

Got to my 99 6 hours early. I was just going to show up, since most of my stops are kraft, mccane, etc. So all of them so far have been d&h. But my DM Called me, so I figured Id ask him if I COULD drop it. He said let me get back to you. Waited 45 mins and he said, drop it. Seems as if it would be easier to call myself. This next has a pickup at 1600 tomorrow, not delivering until monday 0700. I called the 01 and ask if it would be preloaded, she said, we just started loading, will be done tonight. So ill be there in the morning to pick up, then I called the 99 and asked if i could d&h since I will be there saturday (and this is my load home) they said, if you want to, we have empties here. I dont understand why central doesnt do this in the first place. Im debating on if I should keep calling myself, or just keep asking my DM. I know not everyone is d&h, but still, most on this midwest fleet seems to be so far.
Seems like I have two options, keep calling and asking if I can drop early. Or just send a mac 1 saying, "will be at 01/99 at this time, can I drop/pickup early?"
Might be better to send the messages, until the DM gets a real fleet and gets sick of calling. It all just feels unorganized.
I dont mind the calling, but then I have to let my DM know anyways, so, not sure what to do. -
Bug the hell out of your dm with a request for drop on every single load until he gets it through his head that he doesn't need to be doing this. I'm really not sure why you asked him if it was ok, I would've kept making the calls myself until someone told me otherwise. The good news is you will get a feel for the cx's you frequent, and before long you wont have to ask anymore.
Side note: my absolute least favorite receiver (food lion, Dunn, NC) just added a drop account. I was singing a happy song when I went there yesterday and the guard asked me if I was dropping. Every load there is a 4-5 hour unload, and they always manage to break something while unloading. Never again!Arkansas Frost Thanks this. -
I need this! Of course, I'd have to leave my foot on the clutch, and I like to keep it with me in the sleeper.

Yeah, Ill give it a couple weeks of bugging him, then one day ill go. Tired of calling yet? I am able to call them to, they give us the numbers.

So I am looking into small inverters. I have a 300 right now on the dash, just for my GPS (bought it from my trainer, came with a house plug) and my laptop. Now Im looking into a 400 watt (thats the biggest you can run off a 12 v correct?) for my sleeper. I want to be able to run my 32" LED TV and xbox. I think those two combined is only 250 if I understand it right. I know nothing about electricity. Is it safe to run one 300 up front and one 400 in the back? what about 2 in the back?
I dont want to install one on this truck hardwired, because I have a feeling itll go ina few months, seeigns how its a 2011. -
So how strict are they on company drivers on following route. If you look at this map. They want me to take the 24 back west, to the 435 s to get to the 70 e. When leaving I could just take the 291 south right to the 70. I was thinking, ok, maybe there is a low bridge. but then I sent a mac 27, and they told me to take the 291 n from the 70, so it must be a truck approved route. Could I get away with doing this, or do I need to call someone and request it be changed? If so, who do I call?

If the mac27 has directions from 70 you are free to follow them to get back to 70. Routing isn't monitored here as closely as some places. Don't miss a fuel stop and you'll be fine.Buckeye91 Thanks this.
