In a public library and no one noticed this except the librarian? She became suspicious? I wondered what tipped her off? Am I the only one here that wonders how he raped the boy and brought such little attention to it???:biggrin_2554:

It is sad, but a 6 year old can be easily frightened enough to not sound an alarm. The mother should have kept an eye on him. but there were all kinds of should haves violated in this case, the offender should not have been allowed anywhere kids could be, whether those kids were under supervision or not, a predator like that is just too dangerous to be in the general population.

Oh you've GOT to be kidding me! And my kids wonder why I don't take my eyes off them till they're teenagers!

Ok...being a VERY over-protective mom...I am not only HORRIFIED at that SOB for doing that to a child...but where in the hell was the mom?? NO 6 year old should be left on their own in a public building, PERIOD. She was probably checking her email while her child was being raped.

And not one of my kids would have been silent, especially when in pain...they knew Mom would KILL for them and their safety. THAT monster is the reason that I don't even let my 11 1/2 year old walk from the bus stop at the end of our street home without watching her...they can be anywhere. Sorry if I sound so heated and angry...but this story of child rape is just happening WAY too much. One time is way too much...but we literally hear about it daily.

That poor little boy...thank God for the Librarian! I only wish she would have seen something sooner. :(

Sadly, yes, this could go unnoticed. Remember, this guy is experienced and very good at what he does, he's had a lot of practice. The little guy could very easily be paralyzed with fear. He didn't have to be out of mom's sight very long, and it is a library, it wouldn't be unusual for a child to wander away looking at books for a few minutes.

    I agree, minpin!

I still say...where was mom?! Sorry, but I've seen too many little kids (and 6 IS little...too young to let wander by ones self even in a library) wander around stores and such while their parents get sidetracked and lose track of them. Many times I've kept my own eye on someone elses kid that I don't even know (plus my own) because I'm afraid they're not being watched. I am not a *perfect* parent by any means...but that is one thing I'm hardcore about...watching my kids like a hawk! I understand it doesn't take long...and maybe this happened in an instant...but dang. Don't most abductions happen in an 'instant'? That little boy's life is forever changed now because of that SOB.

I hope this is a reminder to parents to keep your little ones close by, or at least within eye view at all times.

    So, so sad.

And now I'll jump down off my soapbox.

I used to use a harness - boy, did I ever get looks!!! Too bad!! I always knew where my kids were!! They either held my hand, sat in the cart or I left them home.
