So been hunting around looking to get back into driving and i see most companies Qualifications are like this....

    • Have a valid CDL Class A (HAZMAT not required but encouraged)
    • Be at least 21 years old
    • Meet DOT requirements and pass a DOT physical, which includes substance screening
    • Have a safe driving record
    • Have good work history
    • Be able to fulfill the physical demands of the job
    • Be able to pass Background Check
None of which really concern me except that around 2009 i had a couple speeding tickets nothing major just wondering how big of a RED FLAG also i have been laid off for around a year which im sure with the way the economy and such is understandable right now since i see alot of companies trying to entice people into driving if they are currently unemployed

(had about 5 years at my last job)

Also going to shoot for ANY JOB dont care if i get paid and treated like #### i can take it for a year if it gets me a better job....

I have two traffic violations that come up in my records too. As long as they aren't big speeding violations, you're probably fine. You've kept your nose clean since then: No accidents. No refused drug/alcohol tests. No drunk driving. No reckless endangerment. No vehicular assault/manslaughter/homicide.

Layoffs don't seem to be a problem. If you have to account for a period of unemployment, they often just have you fax in a signed statement which gives your reason and the length of time you were unemployed. Then you just ask someone to sign it.

You and I share the same attitude. I'll drive for just about anyone who'll have me if it opens the gate to those bigger $$$ jobs.

I still think you're probably okay. They pulled my MVR back to 2004 and only had questions about only one of my tickets. What bothers one carrier may not bother another one. It seems like felonies, frequent speeding tickets and accidents get more frowns.
