I'm heading to Charlotte, NC, to pick up the truck, orientation starts July 22nd. I'll have a long drive back.
-
Congrats guys & gals, wishing you best of times getting your new trucks!
the mary trucker Thanks this. -
I have picked up and delivered the first 3 loads that i scheduled on Tues and now on the last load heading to Ontario CA. Was a bit tight there for first couple loads because of traffic going through the never ending construction on I 35, Austin and San Antonio. Because of that delay I put myself on night shift. I don't care for driving at night but in this case it helped with getting the rest of the loads on time because there was little to no traffic at night. It works when in a pinch!
This weeks revenue should come out ok but certainly not one of my best weeks unless I can grab a real short load on Monday after this delivery. I doubt it can be done but will see what happens!

Just wanted to give an update, its my 3rd week on the choice program, its been a learning period, finding the right loads, not deadheading so much, working the qualcomm being my 1st company that I actually have to use it. I live in Laredo, TX which seemed odd to the people at the OC in Charlotte. In the short time that I've been with Sni I will say that its been a good experience, Sni doesn't bother me, the loads are a little crappy imo but there are some real gold nuggets if you are at the right place at he right time, more so in Texas. Latetly I've been doing short runs (120+miles) that average over 2 bucks a mile. I grabbed one to Robert, La from Grand Prairie, TX. The one bad thing so far is that this was supposed to be an FCFS live unload at Walmart, got there today at 10 am and when I checked in with the guard. He says that I had a set appointment for the next day at 5:15 which screwed me bad because I had another assignment to pick up today at 1400 that would have taken me home to Laredo. I almost blew a gasket, me not my truck. I'm used to this kinda of bad planning from these companies. I will wait and see what happens tomorrow. Overall I have nothing bad to say YET, l made decent dough my 2nd week and this week doesn't look bad either running short hauls. I brought my own truck so right now I don't have to worry about those big payments but I am putting money aside for when the inevitable happens. Happy miles to all.
atruckr and rickybobby Thank this. -

Been hanging out here in Fontana CA sense mid morning yesterday after delivering that final load for the week in Ontario CA. It was a driver assist unload
. Not to bad tho just a truck full of empty metal drums. The receiver had lots of help and I just had to hand the drums to another guy in the trailer with me. We formed a work line of men and hand unload the truck in about an hour. Was sweating my you know what off! But got some exercise, that's always good!
For those that don't want to be climbing around up on top of metal drums in the trailer, this is probably not a good load to take
Anyway, I have had a nice break here, catching up on some laundry, shopping and watched a Client Eastwood Movie Ha! Next, I have picked 3 loads that put me back close to home by Monday of next week.
Oh, almost forgot! Was getting the trailer I had fixed over at the shop and there was a brand new T680 Kenworth in there. Asked the shop guy if it was ok to take a peak inside it. No problem, he said. Got to say! Looking pretty sweet in there. especially like the swivel chair and pull out table so you can sit in a chair and work on your laptop or eat etc.. all leather upholstery looks great and feels great! Good job Kenworth!. I love my truck, but that is a pretty nice truck have to say! I will see if I can get some pics. Apparently SNI has bought about 35 of these new Ken's out here in Cali to test them out. Probably not a bad idea, beats having all your eggs in the Freighterliner basket. Also noticed about 10 new Volvo's in line to be issued as company trucks.
Catch up with ya later! -
At my first destination for this week here in Flower Mound TX. Load delivers in the morning so just spending the night here at the receiver. Plenty of food in the truck and entertainment plus it is nice and quit here. Hopefully I can get an early start with the unload and be on my way to the second load for the week, picking up in Oklahoma going to Mississippi.
Crazy drive going through the construction zone on I-820 in the Fort Worth area. Got through ok, just beware, tight lanes, confusing lane changes and the exits are in different place than what the GPS thinks it is suppose to be. Fortunately made it through without any wrong turns. Had to maintain high alert watching traffic signs and monitoring where my next turn would be, which lane to be in while at the same time they continue to end lanes so lots of merging going on and traffic squeezing and buzzing to get around you. Multiple signs and flashing lights adding to the mix. AND! It was dark too, probably would be easier during daylight. Anyway, all is well! -
Those Volvos on the fence line that are white we're ex-SNI trucks. They reprinted them and waiting to sell them. As for those t680s, those are nice rigs. But I like my trusty century just because the shop has worked on them for so long.
