Experienced Drivers! What do you do...

I realize that my fear is probably more than the average driver's is. And I know with time and practice I'll get past it. I think what terrified me so much with my friend was watching him blindside 90 around some very expensive cars, without so much as a get out, barely a glance in the mirrors and to have him expect the same of me. I spoke with his TM about the job and he told me that an LTL is pretty much expected to do that and much more and to basically get over myself. Guessing that I shouldn't become an LTL any time soon. I proposed to him that a lack of fear altogether is not healthy in this job. While an experienced driver can and should be expected to do whatever it takes for their job, a small hint of fear in the back of the mind, IMHO, keeps a driver safe as they're more willing to use their GOALs or take a moment longer to make sure they are safe doing whatever it is they're doing. Obviously my level of fear is not good, but shouldnt there be some level of trepidation when in a situation where you could cause personal or property damage a good thing?

 

PMRacing, I think its better to block traffic and slide it in the right way than anything else yeah?

 

And this..this is what I'm looking forward to.. I have teenagers still at home
