Well finally got the carrier I really wanted to go to which is Shaffer. Excited and nervous. Have to go out with a trainer for 3 weeks hope won't be too bad. Great rider program for my family and i . Good thing I don't have a pet anymore. Any advice anyone? Will try my best to write about my experiences and bring this side alive again lol

Are you going to see Dolly Parton while you're in her neighborhood; well not too far from her anyway.

When you take a group of students very few will be ready to be on their own in 3 weeks unless that had some kind of prior experience. On average it takes about 6 weeks for a student to be released. Some even take 8 weeks depending on their learning ability. Companies are rushing them through too fast IMO. When I was a newbie it was 8 weeks with a trainer everywhere. I talked my trainer into releasing me after 6 weeks. I wasn't allowed to drive in congested cities until the 3rd week. That's about the time you get the shifting down enough where you don't get in a pickle and the trainer starts trusting you to where they can sleep.

Good luck and absorb as much as you can. When in doubt get out and look. You can't hurt anything if you aren't moving. :)

Shaffer must of recently moved to Lenoir City. I'm about 45 miles from there and never knew they were there.

They are much better than these other training companies as far as working for. I'm sure if they had problem students they would train a little longer.

Day one - drug testing, physicals( liffting, squating, visions test, pushing, pulling) no duck walk but the good old turn your head and cough test lol.
    Tons of paper work.
Returns of rental cars if you had one .
Also road test. This isn't a game, you could have your own truck or stuck with a trainer if you have bad habits.

Day 2 - 1st day to of orientation. Tons of more paper work, lunch is dominos you can only pick one item. Not a buffet

OK well did the training phase which was 3 weeks, from California to Pennsylvania and everywhere in between. Great experience so far. As for solo I actually just got my truck Friday. Had a load this morning delivering from the Lincoln terminal to coke. Then a load from columbus , ne to Plainfield, in. Trailer going to coke has no plate so waiting for prorate to open at 8 central time.
