Everytime I look at U-Ship I wonder who in the world would do anything off of this site. Anyone have any luck with making a few dollars off of it?
U-Ship. Anyone ever do this?

I looked at it several times.
The final prices people end up with means that they are not shipping with legal carriers. -
A few years back, had my own authority and would a few loads here and there but it would only be less than half a dozen a year. And then usually only heavy equipment stuff listed needing RGN.
If I had my own authority, I'd still watch the uship board for the rare good load.
I've met some of the guys that haul from there and most have no cargo insurance. -
I have looked at it a couple times, but all I see is a bunch of yo yo's that have no clue about cost's of trucking or shipping anything and wanting freight moved for nothing. I don't even waste my time checking the site anymore.
SHO-TYME and fr8te_sh8ker Thank this. -
They charge some crazy fees also. The only people who do that are usually low life bottom feeders who are a disgrace to the whole industry.

Grabbed a couple of things off there - once was a piece of artwork that rode in the cab. It was on the way and figured it was an easy way to pick up an extra $150. Did another FTL for a guy who ended up becoming a direct customer. Overall you will spend more time dealing with it than it is worth. As said above you may keep an eye on it for the "every once in a while" good load. It definitely appears as though they have a good bit of flat / sd / rgn freight on there, especially with the Ritchie Bros. relationship that they have.

Isn't there a 15% fee they take as well?

I've bid on numerous loads, never booked a thing yet. Always bid expires or someone underbids. Many times the person just decides not to ship anyways. They let people post items and not follow through with shipping. It's not uncommon for someone to post something they are just thinking of buying on eBay or something. Yet when you bid, you are supposed to be commited to ship. All without really being able to contact the person and discuss the load. Totally the wrong way to do it. Usuck is more like it, or uDon'tship.com or something. A great site for shippers who don't know how to ship and truckers who don't know how to truck.

one load i followed on uship was a galion model b motorgrader that was shipping from my hometown (pop. 1490) the first time it was listed was going to just south of dallas, tx two days later a second galion model b motorgrader from my home town was being shipped to denver, co. funny thing was it was right after a big equipment sale here. it was also the same year and description. they bidding expired. two weeks later that auction house called me to move a you guessed it galion motorgrader from a previous aution site to the main site because the bidder refused to pay for it and was worried they were going to try to get it hauled off with paying.
so whatch what you are bidding on
