I would say your home time starts after your load gets unloaded...that's what I always did...unless you want to get back on the road by a certain time. I would normally stop at home if the 99 couldn't unload me any earlier and I would send a msg over the qualcomm stating as such (that the 99 couldn't unload me till day/time) and that my home time would start at that point. My DM never had a problem with that. Your call though on how you want to handle it but your live unload is going to take you a good portion of your day...a day that you could be home and resting and such.

Whites are OTR, Reds are West Regional, Black are...just kidding - I just couldn't help it. Trucks are...just trucks - color don't matter...though I did want a black truck but ended up with a White Volvo though color really didn't matter from the inside.

Central likes those colours. Used to be the red ones were almost always lease ops, and the black white were mostly company. It's changed over the years, it's tough to tell who has what. Most company trucks run super singles, but not all, and most lease ops run duals, but not all.

No it doesn't. You're under load. You're responsible for that trailer, whether you've left the truck at a truck stop, the truck in your front yard, or you've dropped the trailer at a yard and bobtailed home. You're not free to go out, party, have a drink, or really go too far. You're not on home time.

I always treated it as any day I worked was not a home time day. If I was owed 4 days of home time, and I worked Friday morning, then I considered Saturday-tuesday my time off. Now, it was a different case if I got off work at like 1am Friday morning than if I got off at 10am Friday morning, but I seldom heard arguements. I wanted my home time in full days, and that's how I took it.

Alright friends, I'm ready to make a change and need to know some ins and outs on central. Can someone tell me what the trainer policy is? How long do I have to wait to become a trainer if I am lease op with 9 yrs experience ?

A lot of trainers take one to three trainees out (1-2 months out) then go home for hometime solo. You can do pretty good financially as long as you get halfway descent trainees and a DM who will keep you moving. My trainer, for example, was making around 2k per week while I was on the truck, and we weren't on the best fleet for trainers. After he was done with me he could afford to go home for a bit. As far as what it takes to get into training I can't say (not knowing your situation). You have to serve a winter, and a minimum of 6 months with central before you can train.

I wouldn't do that multi trainee thing. Too difficult to show the 3rd log to dot and make it look good. MO got on CRE for that, now it's one on one.

Not at once, but sequentially. Trucks aren't made for three at a time.
