No clue. But lack of a johnson bar wasn't going to stop me from buying my first truck that otherwise had everything in it I wanted.

I suspect it has less to do with cost savings on the install than it does on the cost savings of brake maintenance from untrained/unskilled drivers using the johnson bar for stupid reasons it's not designed for. Like running down hills etc.

well it's good you're happy. Like I said Ive never seen a truck that didn't have one. If I were to get in a truck without one I would probably spend 20 minutes trying too locate it!

I appreciate the input everyone. I figured the first one was yet to be implemented and second one too since Swift, Prime, Covenant, US Xpress, Pride, CR England, all have trucks without them. If it were me, all trucks would have them.

A lot of the newer trucks don't run them, I bought 8 Cascadias from Abilene Motor express, no bars. I always used it to check my 5th wheel pin securement after hooking up. Now I pop the button.

Why? There are plenty of other places in the truck to hang stuff on.

    Signed into law 7/6/12.

Only thing left for them is to provide the funding for it.

A lot of carriers have been "persuaded" by FMCSA to install EOBR's to keep their satisfactory rating.
