Ruan driver achieves two million accident-free miles
    2/1/08

Ruan Transport Corp. recently honored driver Wayne Blubaugh with the Ruan Million Mile Safety Award. The achievement recognizes his two million miles and 22 years of accident-free driving for the Des Moines, Iowa-based carrier. Blubaugh was presented his award on Jan. 19, when he received a personal plaque of recognition and a belt buckle honoring his accomplishment.

"I cannot say enough good things about Wayne,” says Tim Laffoon, Blubaugh's terminal manager. “He has been with Ruan since 1985. That alone says a lot about Wayne and his commitment to Ruan. He is always willing to go above and beyond to help with any problems our customers have, and is always willing to help out a fellow driver to ensure they also get the job done in a safe manner."

Blubaugh’s dedication to his company has helped earn him numerous service and safety awards. “Drivers like Wayne are Ruan’s most valuable asset,” says Jim Mulvenna, the company's vice president of safety and administration. “His hard work and commitment to safety deserve to be recognized.”http://www.etrucker.com/apps/news/article.asp?id=66132

That's awesome...one question though, isn't 22 years a long time to get 2 million miles? Maybe it just depends on who you work for and how many miles you get weekly...?

Thats about 7500 miles avg per month-must be a local or close regional
type route....but still that many miles "accident free" is great.

That's awesome, keep the stories like this coming Cyber gal.:biggrin_25525:
But that does seem like an excessive amount of time to only have travelled 2 million miles.

Yeah I agree with you...getting 2 million accident free during any time frame is impressive...maybe even moreso that it was over a 22 year span of time.
