That is all this is about..It is all about Control and Micro Management.I get heated when they say it is a ''Saftey Measure''...The real sad part is that it is a kick in the balls to MOST drivers. The drivers once again get a Pay Cut and very bad working conditions.

I can see if you have a 100+ fleet that having an EOBR or some method that whenever it hits a WIFI, dumps data back to a server.

I have one and only one truck. To what purpose does that technology provide me when I am the one sitting behind the wheel? Who is it going to be sent to? My computer is in the truck with me.

I already know what my hours are, my recap is, my weekly total and my fatigue/health level.

MN, I VERY seldom see our trucks, the guys all take their trucks home with them and most are serviced ON THE ROAD.

You guys can try as hard as you want, but you no NOTHING of how THIS company operates, we are unlike most any other company out their, mainly because of what we haul, the way we dispatch, and the fact that our drivers DO have quite a bit of say in what they are doing.

I can't help it if the rest of the world as you know it operates half fasted. I find it amusing that someone that knows very little if anything about myself or my company can make all of the assumptions that you guys do.

    Pot kettle,

    Kettle Pot.....

you still have the ability to see WHAT your drivers are doing. Even if it's once a year.

It's a matter of TRUST then that you have hired PROFESSIONAL drivers who are going to do WHAT is LEGALLY required of them to complete the job.

Past that, it's a trust and management issue. Again, What have those to do with safety?

Please show me a post where I have stated that, FOR US, it was ALL ABOUT SAFETY, go ahead, I'll wait.

As far as your "pot kettle" comment, I am not the one that is trying to paint EVERY company out there with such a wide brush, you and Landstar are.

Sounds like a good outfit.I would hope that the company drivers are making at least 60,000 a year for all there troubles. And not to mention ''making you sleep better at night''...

I for one with my expertise would ask for alot if i am ''forced'' to run for a company and expected to run Micro Managed...

landstar8891, $60,000 a year minimum is the magic number? Whew, looks like I'm not too much of a kool-aid drinking sheeple after all ;-)

What more do we need to know?

    YOUR exact statement......

That is a management issue and nothing to do with safety. You can monitor them with OUT having EOBR.
