I am looking for info from any of yall Swift drivers about the Walmart dedicated accounts. I got a call today offering me the position. The recruiter told me 1600-2500 miles at .33 cpm starting out. Just curious if this is a realistic number or the normal recruiter routine. I live in Enterprise, AL will be pulling out of the Brundidge DC. I currently run wood chips and we are running on hard times so I consider this a hell of an upgrade. The only thing that worries me is the recruiter said they hire alot so I'm assuming a dramatic turnover rate. If at all possible help a driver out! Thanks

Some posters on this site say that is good money.

I am not in agreement with them.

I hear ya! I'm def not looking to get rich, just get home a few days out the week. In the backwoods here lately we have been lucky to clear $300 weekly pulling a full 70 hours. No wood = No $$$, lost contract after lost contract, seen drivers dropping like flies here.

Also $10/Stop first Stop doesn't count.
Unless they have a different Setup down there.

Thats decent money about $800 to $1000 a wk me and another driver ran for that DC for a few wks they ran us hard and kept us busy.

The stop pay makes up for lost miles average of 3 stops a night sometimes more and I ran over 3000 miles in a wk out of there.

Ehow them your a runner and run hard and ask for more thats how I have managed to to do good with Swift run run run and ask for more.

If ur not happy with a $1000 a wk as a company driver you. Better go be a.o/o and good luck with that.

I personally believe its like any other job I have seen so many people leave where I'm at now all because noone wanted to climb a ladder and tarp their load. People in general don't wanna work, that's my opinion. If I can tough out working on my own truck when the shop refuses to do so, running illegal, and dealing with pissed off Georgia Pacific employees, well this should be a cakewalk. I would like to know if you are a Swift employee even on a dedicated, could you lease on to that account at a later date? I have several drivers interested in this, seems as if everyone just has a truck laying in their backyard around here.

Yes Swift driver I am a surge driver for Walmart DC so I make a bit more at my DC because I never joined the fleet I make $.32 to $.42 a mile average 2600 a wk and about 20 stops a wk all stops @ $15.

I dint join fleet my DC only pays $.29mile $10 stop 1st stop is $0

I average $1000-$1250 wk I have made upto $1500wk but Im a hard runner I love 650miles a day I noticed a lot of drivers only wanna run 250-300 a day and there happy not me Im out here to make money not happy anything under $900wk is a joke. And I only make under that on hometime wks I push for.more.and more I l ok ve 14hr days I have only worked 2days since the new rules started I was injured andunable to work so dont know how its going to work with new restart rule I burn my hrs every 6 days.

Personally the best way to do it is just be a surge driver u make more money but you can also be told we are short onloads and go back to otr anytime.

They keep lease drivers no nothing about pay scale for them though better the lease owners I know doing it do it because there is no mt miles all paid miles lds are always DC to Stop 123 to DC.

Walmart is a good place to work you are treated much better my DC knows me by 1st name no # needed thats my favorite part about it and I see home a l ok t more now.

I have been running Surge for Walmart since the first week of May. I am still making the .28 cents a mile since I am less then 6 months from hire and I am averaging right around $1000 per week. At the end of the month I get the .02 cent raise so that will add about $40. Plus right now is kind of a slow down after the 4th of July and into middle of August. I was told once the Labor day rush starts it doesn't stop until Christmas. go from Labor day bbq food right in to pumpkins into turkeys, and into hams. right now on single run days I am averaging around $125 for about 6 hours work. I also get about 2-3 double runs a week which add on another $250. I am making about $200 more per week vs being OTR plus I am not coming anywhere close to burning up my 70 I have been running nonstop since the 5th of July and just keep getting back hours every night and stay with about 16 hours at any given time.
