What other career were you pursuing? Just curious because I did the same thing. Thanks

I started a business in 09. (Not a good time with the economy situation-which hasn't improved at all). I did pretty good, just not great. Besides, I would see the trucks on the road and think how much I really miss driving. :0/ So I am looking again lol

Broke down, waiting on "Breakdown" to pick up the phone. I've been on hold for exactly one hour.

Here is a idea about reaching breakdown, call fuel or the main number and tell them you can't get through to BD. they can get things moving I'll bet.

Very nice Post SSB! I often enjoy your Post's of keeping it real on here. I left Crete mainly because of the other things you mentioned. Many of those things are mentioned in some of your other Post's. Crete likes to Micro manage at times. The Safety department has to much power since they aren't good with their people skills. They tell you they are going to PUT YOU OUT OF SERVICE at the drop of a hat sometimes when they think they aren't going to get what they want and so on. I also found that getting home wasn't a priority to them if they didn't have the load going your way sometimes. Like it killed them sometimes to swap a load to help you get where you needed to be sometimes. In addition, the addition of AM's was a failure for me. Mine was clueless and powerless to do anything sometimes. I truly believe she made some things more difficult for me to many times. I liked it much better when I just got my load info. off the QC. No messages every ten minutes wanting something they were to lazy to figure out on their own and so on. Like...my truck moved for 10.5 hours and now it's still for 6. Think I'm sleeping most likely and not wanting to send you a ETA OR PTA at that moment. Besides, both are most likely the same as the one's I already sent. I had my share of good times and BAD times as many of you on here do. I just got enough one day and started looking more seriously at other places. Figured why not use my frustrated energy on finding something that fits me better. I check into so many places weighing the Pros and Cons just like many of you do. Thinking I can be Mr. Owner Op or do this and that with all these other companies. When all the dust settled I found myself still sitting in a Crete truck wondering if I would ever leave. Knew I had to give up a little to move on. Knew my family needed me to make a good choice. Looked a little more and then I found Poly. OH YES INDEED! Didn't even know they had their own thread on here. Talked to a Poly driver and loved what I was hearing. Then found out about their thread and read through it. Learned that many of the drivers there were once at Crete even. So I began my quest to give them a shot. You pretty much know the rest. They gave me a shot and I'm there today. Absolutely LOVE IT as you well know. I'm still glad I worked at Crete and they were good to me. Money wasn't the main issue. It was after all...just as you say...all the other stuff. However, the money IS BETTER at Poly which doesn't hurt matters! :)

Thanks for all the stuff you put on here. I relate to so much of it from my time there. Hope things get back to being better for you there. Look forward to reading more about your experiences. As always, take care out there!

After 70 minutes of "please stay on the line, someone will be with you shortly" I gave up and went to bed.
Started in again at 4am and got through in 6 minutes. The person I talked to was almost as frustrated as I am, I guess you take a lot of abuse in that job.

I've had them answer and say "can you hold for just a second?", then put me back on hold for another hour. I'm finally done at Lincoln, 72 hours for an 'A' service and to get my side skirt mounted correctly. I must commend the body shop guy here. The International dealer had failed to mount the fairing correctly, then NSL shop failed, and it continued to rub against the hood and cause damage. The guy here in Lincoln was the only one able to fix it, and he did it perfectly!
