Monson is a good company to start out with. I drove for them for 2 years and never had problems with loads, pay or home time. Their school is good for getting you prepared for your solo.

Once you graduate, they hand you the keys to your truck and your are solo. NO trainer.

Yes, they are Internationals, conventional, 10spd Eaton. They will assign a truck, one of the older ones, 2-3 years old and after about a year they will put you in a newer one.

    Hows it going guys,

Yes I have posted about Monson Trucking a couple of times. I am in Monson,s school as we speak. The school is 5 weeks in length, and then you are on your own. This next week is our last week of school. Monday is our last full day of class and then we take our overnight trip up to Duluth for orientation on Tues and Weds, and then Thurs is about a half a day to wrap up school down in Red Wing.

The school is not that easy but The instructor is weeding out the people he knows can't hack it on thier own. My class started with 5 people and now there are 3 of us that will make it to the end.

With that being said the instructer tells you on the very first day of school that he is a firm believer in makeing the training harder than the job, so I think if you can survive the 5 weeks with him than you can survive the job as long as you remember what he teaches you and you apply it everyday.

As far as the equipment yes they do have just a few autos maybe 50 in the whole fleet, but from what I have heard they are not impressed with them and they won't be buying any more any time soon.

They have international 9200's with 410 HP Cat's and Eaton Fuller 9 speeds or 10 speeds. They don't drive in the mountains so they don't have Jake breaks in the trucks.

The trucks you drive in school are 9 speeds.

They do run into Canada quite often, usualy up to Thunder Bay, and also up to Winepeg. But when you make the trip up into Canada, they like to send at least two trucks togeather so if you have any problems your not stranded all alone in "BFE".

I have realy enjoyed my expieriance so far and I can't wait to get going on my own and start makeing some $$$

I hope this helps you, and if you have anymore questions let me know.

    Take Care All:biggrin_255:
